Chariman's Report The new rosters were passed out. Mo instructed anyone with corrections to bring them to her after the meeting. Mo stated that Rhonda would not be here tonight, but she had her report. Cheesecakes.: Mo stated that she received the official village stand on the Cheesecake sale from the counsel for the village. The Buffalo Grove Days committee is an entity of the village and under the direction of the Village Board. If someone gets sick from the cheesecakes, then the Village could be liable. Mo stated that since there was not a quorum at the meeting, discussion would be tabled until the next meeting. Buffaloes on Parade and the Buffalo Grove Days: The Fine Arts Commission is offering businesses to buy and decorate buffalo to be placed on display during the Buffalo Grove Days Festival. So far, 30 businesses have been approached, 25 have been sold. These buffalo would be placed on display somewhere on campus during the Buffalo Grove Days Festival, and would be auctioned off during the Festival. Mo is not sure where the buffalo will be displayed, as each one measures 4 feet by 3 feet. With 30 being sold, they will take up a considerable amount of space. Mo also stated that the businesses that had been approached for the purchase of the buffalo, were not regular sponsors of the Festival. Police: No report Park District: Ryan Reinberg was not present. Parade: Joe Tenerelli was not present. Mobile Com: Roger Remblake was not present. Fun and Food: No report. Fire Department: No report. Public Works; Ray Rigsby was not present. Trustee Liason: DeAnn Glover was not present. Chamber: Mike Jonas will return about April 18 and will probably begin the preliminary work with the restaurants in May/June. The lottery for the restaurant getting the pizza booth will occur in one of the Committee meetings as was done last year. It is yet, undetermined when the lottery will take place. Food Tent: Tom Johns was not present but sent the report that the contract with Indestructo has been turned in to the Village Hall. Arts and Crafts: Not present. Carnival: Paulette stated that she had the insurance certificate for the carnival. Mo instructed Paulette to turn it into Jane Olson at the Village Hall. Paulette also stated that_the ticket prices will be the same. 14 tickets will be $10 and 30 tickets will be $20. The hand stamp will be $12-14, depending on the number of rides. Entertainment: Rhonda was not present but emailed her report to Mo. Sunday: The contracts for Noise Pollution and Mickey and the Memories have been signed. The cost for the Scooby Doo Revue had gone up to over $8500. Rhonda has booked the Super Saturday Starring Scooby Doo at $7500 instead. They are a bit more interactive with the crowds and are a bit better. They will play three 1/z hour shows on the Main stage Sunday afternoon. Mo stated that she was interested in getting a Children's Business Fair on the grounds in the Main Stage area for Sunday, which would include tables with children's businesses. Mo was interesting in approaching businesses to buy tables, where they would be allowed to display their products and take orders, but not allowed to sell any products. Mo asked for a volunteer to head up the Children's Business Fair. No one volunteered during the meeting. Mo stated that she had someone in mind and would talk with that person after the meeting, Friday night at the Main Stage is still open. Mo stated that the Youth commission was emailed in regards to working on the teen stage. Mo asked the Hackett's to look into it with their kids, as there has been no response from the commission. Fund Raisin: Sara stated that she has a total of$15,275 committed in writing in corporate sponsorship. She stated that she also has a grand sponsor for the Children's Fair, for $5,000 but nothing in writing yet. Publicity: Karen Danenberg was not present. A suggestion was made that the publicity for the Friends of the Festival begin early. Suggestions were made to place signs in prominent stores asking for sponsors. Mo reminded the committee members to sign their Oath and Ethics forms and get them back in ASAP. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30. Respectfully submitted. Jane Primack, Secretary
