The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM.
Chairman's Report
Dean stated that Mo would not be here tonight, but gave her report.
Volunteers are needed to assist Paulette with the Children's Fair to be held in conjunction with
the Saturday Children's entertainment(Scooby Doo). Dean stated that as most of the committee
members would be on campus on Saturday, everyone available should plan on helping. Dean
reiterated that the Children's Fair would be on the football field and the Main Stage would be
used for the Children's entertainment.
Please get any pre-festival publicity to Karen Danenberg.
Buffaloes on Parade-the Buffaloes will be auctioned off during BG Days. The Fine Arts
Commission, the Village, and the Committee will be working together to find a location that will
suit us all.
Dean stated that there will be no physical changes in the layout of the festival, except that there
would be no Children's Stage.
Police: No report
Park District: Ryan stated that the Park District would be sponsoring a Climbing Wall and a
Dunk Tank on the carnival side of the festival. These would be located somewhere near the
Service Building, although the exact location has not yet been decided on. There are presently 2
volunteers for the Dunk Tank: Elliot Hartstein and Jeff Berman. Ryan stated that there would
probably be Park District employees and Board Members from the Park District also being
"Dunked". The Climbing Wall and the Dunk Tank would be running most of Saturday and
Sunday after the parade.
Ryan stated that Phil Verston was taking care of the formal letter asking permission from the Park
District for the use of the grounds.
Parade: Joe Tenerelli was not present.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake was not present.
Fun and Food: No report.
Fire Department: No report.
Public Works: Ray Rigsby was not present.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover was not present.
Chamber: Steve Panitch was not present. No report.
Food Tent: Tom stated that he has received 5 replies from the non-profits. He also questioned
when the Food Committee would be determining the vender night. This would probably be at the
first meeting in August.
Arts and Crafts: Not present.
Carnival: Paulette was not present. No report.
Entertainment: Rhonda passed out the schedules for the festival entertainment. All the big acts
have been booked and contracts signed, including Friday night. She also stated that she might
have a live group for the beer tent for Friday night. The last call for the beer tent would be 11:15
with the shut down of the tent at midnight.
Fund Raisin: Sara was not present. Dean stated that he had received a check for $500.00 from
the Rotary Club.
Publicity: Karen requested all publicity information to be given to her by July 1 st.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:40.
