The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.
Chairman's Report:
Mo announced that Karen Danenberg has agreed to take over the entertainment committee.
Mo stated that even though few people are here tonight, no one responded that they were not
returning. Chillie Willie is here, as always for the first meeting. Mo stated that she had no
agenda. The first meeting is basically to discuss the entertainment and get that in order.
New people: Laurie Czarvecki, Marlin Simon, and Bruce Hoffman from the Chamber.
Mo is looking for Chair People for some of the committees. She needs someone to Chair the
VIP party. Pam Sorocco volunteered. Mo appointed the Co-Chairs for Publicity to be
Chantal Davidson and Laurie Czarnecki. Mo asked Paulette to again Chair the Children's
Expo.
Entertainment - Main Stage: Karen Danenberg: Karen stated that there will be an increase
for the entertainment budget for this year. We still can't go too high for a single act. We need
something to pull people onto the football field. 60's and 70's is what we have the budget for.
Karen thought of possibly getting a big band on Saturday night, and smaller bands on Friday
and Sunday. There was much discussion about which bands to choose based on the budget.
Joe made a motion to allow Karen to proceed with booking the bands as stated for Friday,
Saturday and Sunday. If Karen has a problem, she will address it the next meeting.
Beer Tent: The college kids that were performing in the beer tent were good, but were under
age. There were messages left on the voice mail for the Committee in complaint that the kids
performing in the beer tent were under age. Mo stated that the kids were not drinking. The
Beer Tent caters to the 21 and over market. The Chamber has no restrictions about who is
allowed into the beer tent. The committee will let Karen pick the beer tent entertainment this
year.
Late evening cut off was a problem last year. This year, we will coordinate the last act with
the cut off time. Mo wants times discussed in a separate meeting and then bring in Jim
Newton, the police liaison. This year, per Jim, cut off time will be firm. He will need sidebar
meeting with the chamber later. Karaoke was Saturday night and Sunday night entertainment
after the fireworks.
Children's Entertainment: Karen will book an act for the Main Stage again this year for
Saturday afternoon during the Children's Fair.
In regards to Street Entertainment, Mo has heard comments about returning the entertainment
in the Arts and Crafts area. Nikki stated that the Arts and Crafts people thought it would be
nice to have the entertainment. Local businesses will supply their equipment and they will
monitor themselves. We do not have to be there.
Walk-arounds will be left to Karen.
Teen Stage: It was discussed that there may be a change in DJs from what was used in the last
few years during the festival.
Joe made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:30.
Respectfully submitted.
