Chariman's Report: Mo has submitted her resignation as Chairperson for the Buffalo Grove Days Festival, effective September 2, 2002. She has a new position at work that is more stressful and she can longer give 100% to the festival. Police: Jim Newton - no report Park District: Ryan Risinger - not present Parade: Joe Tenerelli We need candidates for the Parade Marshal. The drop dead date for the submission for the nominees is July 15th. We have 4 to5 nominees as of now. It is too early for progress on the parade. Mobile Com: Roger Remblake - not present Fun and Food: Rick Kahen Cravings will participate in the Food and Fun this year. The food set up will be the same as last year. Rick has not heard from the wheelchair basketball group yet. Fire Department: Troy Shannon - not present Public Works: Ray Rigsby - not present Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover - not present Chamber: Steve Panitch- no report Food Tent: Tom Johns Tom stated that he had two more not-for-profit groups. A Krohn's disease group wishes to sell sugar cane juice in the food tent. There is no other group selling such so the item was approved. Arts and Crafts: Nikki Lee/Glenda Hoelting - not present Nikki had given the report to Mo and stated that the crafters are coming in slow. Most are waiting to hear if they get into the Schaumburg show. Carnival/Children's Expo: Paulette Greenberg Paulette put a blurb in Village newsletter about the Children's Expo asking for participants A representative from the Sharks Kids hockey league wants to know if he can have a money raffle at the Fair. Paulette told him that he can raffle off stuffed sharks, but no money can be exchanged. A riding stable wants to bring to in a pony for the Expo. A BG business wants to sell glo necklaces to the committee for the Festival. Mo instructed Paulette to have the representative talk to Lori Hacket. Paulette is to give Lori his number. Nikki made lollipops for the Relay for Life. It was suggested that we can use them to line the way to the Children's Expo. Paulette stated that the carnival is set. Entertainment: Karen Danenberg Karen is still missing one kids entertainment group and a jazz band. Frontier Days has also booked New Colony Six. Mo asked that Karen get publicity information for all the entertainment to Chantal. Mo also stated that we need to get the word out about the Children's Expo. Every Friday, the Park District day camps send the kids home with a newsletter. It was suggested that we could try to send a little flyer with information about the Kids Expo, including the dates for the pre ticket sales, and the pay one price days. The Barefoot Hawaiians group will be performing at the Festival and the performance made it in their own news letter. Fund Raisin: Sara Herman Fund raising is progressing well. There has been no response from Friends of the Festival. Publicity: Chantal Davidson/Lori Czarnecki At the Pioneer Press, Kim will write 2 articles on Thursday 2-3 weeks before the weekend of the Festival. Chantal states that she is faxing information to them at the Pioneer Press. Mo instructed Chantal to call to see if Pioneer Press will do an article on the Children's Expo. Steve Panich will talk to the writer who does the BG articles in the Pioneer Press. Sara wants the proofs faxed to her prior to submitting. Chicago Tribune: Pam Becker is writing a story on BG and Lake Zurich and wants to include BG days in the article, which is due to come out August 28th. . She wants background information about the Festival. The radio station The MIX will be at the Festival but will do their own thing. Bill Brim - not present Relay for life raised over $3300 Joe Tenerelli made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30. Respectfully submitted.
