The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM.
Chairman's Report:
Mo is not here this evening. There is no Chairman's report.
Police: Jim Newton—no report
Park District: Ryan Risinger—not present
Parade: Joe Tenerelli -
The Grand Marshal has been chosen for the parade, with two Co-Marshalls, all to represent our
hometown heroes.
Next year, we will use a three person committee to choose the Grand Marshal for the parade.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake—
Good to go.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen -
Rick stated that we have the Rehab Institute of Chicago's women's basketball team coming out
Monday to perform near the food tent. They can do an exhibition or anything else we want.
They will bring 5 extra wheelchairs if we wish to field a team. We also need to find a place for
exhibition. They will need two portable backboards, which the Park District has. Rick stated that
he had discussed the exhibition with Mo and they had considered the public works parking lot for
the space. Rick will give the information regarding the wheelchair team to Chantal Davidson.
Sara Herman informed Rick that she has the sponsors for the handicapped carts.
Fire Department: Troy Shannon—no report
Public Works; Ray Rigsby - not present
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—not present
Chamber: Steve Panitch-
There are 10 approved restaurants
Steve has four new restaurants that he needs approval on. These restaurants were discussed. Two
restaurants were approved. Steve will go back to two others to discuss food choices. Those two
restaurants are still pending approval. Steve states that these four restaurants have contracts out,
and the restaurants are outside of BG. Steve also stated that there is one more restaurant needed,
as we now have 14 restaurants. He discussed the consideration for that spot.
Food Tent: Tom Johns -
Tom is still looking into the roasted corn issue.
Arts and Crafts: Nikki Lee/Glenda Hoelting -
Nikki wishes to try a kids market place this year. Four to five people have called expressing an
interest one.
Dean stated that this needs to be run past Mo.
Publicity: - Chantal Davidson -
Chantal stated that she is feeding anything she gets to the newspapers. She added that she got a
considerable amount of information from Karen tonight.
VIP Party: Pam Sorocco
The Continental Restaurant is willing to provide the food for the VIP party.
Glo Necklaces
The glo necklaces have been ordered and should be delivered soon. They can always use
volunteers to help sell.
Roger Remblake made the motion to adjourn.
