The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.
Chairman's Report:
Mo has no report this week.
Police: Jim Newton -
There was a discussion regarding parking at St. Mary's Church parking lot.
Park District: Ryan Risinger - Not present
Parade: Joe Tenerelli -
Joe stated that the applications continue to come in slowly. He has 47 entries to date. The
deadline is August 19 for entries.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -
Roger stated that the radios have been ordered and they are set to go.
Roger stated that this year, he has a second level of volunteers to help with Mobile Com. As a
result, he requests that anyone using a radio, wishing to contact Mobile Com, specifically use
the term "Mobile Com"when contacting the unit.
Roger asked about the cell phones. Mo stated that the cell phones have been ordered. There
will be 10 for the buses and 1-2 for the Information Booth. There will be no cell phone on the
carnival side. As last year, anyone in need of use of a cell phone will be directed to go to the
Information Booth.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen—
Everything has been confirmed with the wheelchair basketball team.
They will play at noon between themselves for a 20 minute game, then they will play a game
with the trustees. Rick is still looking for volunteers for the trustee game.
Other than that, he is good to go.
Fire Department: Troy Shannon—Not present
Public Works; Ray Rigsby - No report
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover - No report
Chamber: Steve Panitch-
Steve stated that he is still working to get hot dogs for Monday.
Steve reported that he may have another vendor for Thursday.
Next Tuesday will be the Business Fair meeting at 5:30 p.m.
Steve reported that he has contacted all the restaurant vendors who did not attend the meeting
last week.
Steve stated that he has lined up the van provided by an area dealership for shuttling the Arts
and Crafts people from their cars back to campus. We now just need to provide a driver and
the appropriate insurance. This vehicle would provide shuttle service for both the Arts and
Crafts people and the vendors for the Business Fair. Ray reported that there is a bus that starts
running at 6 a.m. There is another bus that starts running at 9 a.m..
Food Tent: Tom Johns - Not present
Tom will be back on Friday
JV Springman has the packets for the not for profit people who did not show last week.
Arts and Crafts: Nikki Lee/Glenda Hoelting -
Nikki stated that she has 46 crafters signed up.
Carnival: Paulette Greenberg -
Paulette stated that for the Children's Expo, she has 10 booths. Karen added 1 more tonight.
Paulette stated that the Pioneer Press ran an article last week and will run another one next
week asking for volunteers for the ticket booth and vendors for the Children's Expo. Paulette
stated that she had already received calls from volunteers who wish to sign up for the ticket
booth.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg - No report
The entertainment will show up.
Fund Raisin: Sara Herman -
Fund raising continues to progress.
Sara stated that this is the last call for the Friends of the Festival donations. She will not be
here next week, but anyone can give their check to Steve if they wish to donate.
Sara stated that she had a number of new contributors this year, and expects many of the old
contributors will come back next year.
Publicity: - Chantal Davidson/Lori Czarnecki
Chantal stated that everyone has everything.
Chantal stated that The Mix radio station wanted to know when they would get information
for the parade. Joe stated that the parade information will be going out later, after the
deadline. The Mix also wanted to know where they would be located on the campus grounds.
Mo stated that they would be over by carnival area, the same as last year.
Chantal stated that the information in the Herald would also be given to the Pioneer Press.
Michele Taxe says that the insert is done, laid out, and was ready to go as of last Thursday. It
is too late to put anything more in the insert.
Village Liaison: Bill Brimm; - No report
Glo Necklaces: - Lori and Ron Hackett
Lori stated that they have people to sell Glo Necklaces for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
nights. Lori stated that she sells on Thursday for only 1 hour.
She presently has 6-8 people to sell. Lori stated that Sunday is the biggest night. They can
always use help in selling the necklaces. If you wish to help, Lori asks that you report to her
when it gets dark, at the entrance to the field.
Joe Tenerelli made a motion to adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 7:50.
