Chariman's Report: Mo stated that she had no agenda. Mo reported that that Village newsletter came out with the "2001" schedule of events. Mo stated that it had been corrected, but the printer did not correct for the printing. Mo also stated that September 2 has been canceled this year, to be replaced with September 3rd, according to the printer. Again, this was corrected on the final mock up, but the printer did not correct before the printing. Karen stated that all the corrections made to the entertainment were corrected. One cart will be available at information booth. If you have an emergency, call for the cart at the information booth. Mo asked that if you are driving a cart, please be on a mission. Do not drive a cart into carnival or beer tent areas. Please use some common sense when driving the carts. Mo stated that we will try to have a radio at the beer tent area at all times. Either Ron Jess or Steve Panitch will have one in the beer tent. Mo said that we all know what to do. Other than that everything is all set. Police: Jim Newton— Parking for the committee members will be over behind the Village hall. and must have the parking pass visible in window. Jim stated that he has taken care of the security behind main stage. Park District: Ryan Risinger—not present Mo stated in her last conversation with Ryan, that the Park District is good to go. Parade: Joe Tenerelli - Ken Lazar stated that tomorrow night Joe and he will do the mailing to the parade entries. Joe stated that there are now 60 units for the parade. He stated that the deadline is over, but he will accept more units if they come in, including politicians. Mobile Com: Roger Remblake - Not present Fun and Food: Rick Kahen - Rick stated that he was good to go. Rick asked about making sure that there would be water on the carnival side on Monday morning for the Fun and Food program. Mo stated that there would be a case of water in Mobile Com if anyone needed it. Rick stated that for the wheelchair basketball exhibition game, Trustees Kahn, Braiman, and Johnson will be playing. Elliot will contact Rick later to commit. Food for the Fun and Food is to be scheduled to arrive on Monday at 10:30 AM. Rick stated that they would need condiments. Mo stated that she would be getting mustard, ketchup, salt, pepper, and napkins from Sam's Club. Rick asked that we get additional Styrofoam containers this year as we ran out of them last year. We went through 400 last year. Mo stated that she would get 500 this year. Rick stated that if members had nothing to do, check with the handicapped shuttle for Saturday and Sunday. He still needs drivers. Fire Department: Troy Shannon—no report Public Works; Ray Rigsby—no report Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover— DeAnn discussed some of the issues regarding next year's BG Days. Committee members were instructed that if we receive comments regarding this issue, to take the person's name and phone number and state that the Village Board will get back to them. Chamber: Steve Panitch— Steve stated that he was able to get more food vendors for Monday. He now has 9 restaurants, including one that sells hot dogs. Steve thanked Ron and Debbie Jess for suggesting Legendary Foods, as they are one of the new restaurants. Steve stated that he also got hot dogs for Thursday, which comes to a total of 4 restaurants for that night. We have a total of 16 for-profit restaurants and 15 not-for-profit restaurants this year. The Business Fair meeting was tonight at 5:30 which was well attended. Mo was also present. Steve advised the committee members that the Business Fair people have been told that if they have any questions, to find anyone with a blue shirt. They can also find Chamber members at the beer tent. Steve wanted to thank everyone in advance, for their help with the Business Fair. Ron stated that he would like the beer truck to be removed as early as possible on Monday morning. He asked if something could be sent to them on Village letterhead to that effect. Ray stated that he would take care of it. Food Tent: Tom Johns - Tom stated that everything is all set. We do have corn this year. Tom stated that we do not have the basketball toss this year. The Knight of Columbus do not have enough help to man the booth. They will be back next year. Arts and Crafts: Nikki Lee/Glenda Hoelting— Nikki stated that 50 welcome packets were sent out this week. She has 50 crafters. Carnival: Paulette Greenberg— For the Children's Expo, she has 11 paid booths, with 4 more who promised they were sending the money. For selling the tickets in the ticket booth, she has a few seniors. Only 1 committee member has signed up for the ticket booth. Paulette stated that the news letter came out today, with requests for people to sell tickets, so she hopes to get more calls. Entertainment: Karen Danenberg - Karen stated that she has heard from the symphonic band, who will need 65 chairs accessible to them Saturday by 3:30. Karen stated that they need to be in back of the stage and the band members will take them up on the stage and place the chairs themselves. All the entertainers have been contacted. Karen has order a stretch limo for the meet and greet for Gary Puckett. The limo is costing $200 total for both ways. The limo will meet Gary Puckett at the Airport. Fund Raisin: Sara Herman—Not present Publicity: Chantal Davidson - The Pioneer Press is providing two free ads. One will be run this Thursday and a second one the following Thursday. The Chicago Tribune article insert will run next Wednesday. The Daily Herald is done. The Mix wants to pass out flavored water bottles at the parade. They have 10,000 water bottles just for the parade. Village Liaison: Bill Brimm - Bill stated that he had nothing this week. Glo necklaces: Lori and Ron Hackett- Lori stated that we have the necklaces and are ready to go. Lori stated that she ordered 1500 this year, same as past years. Mo reminded the committee that if they are looking for something to do around dusk, go to the field and find Lori. We need as many bodies as possible to sell. VIP Party: Pam Soracco - The VIP Party will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. Pastabilities is providing the food. Pam will need help setting up for the party, and also during that period for serving food pouring beer, and handing out sodas. The party will be at the SW corner of the football field.
