Chairman's Report:
Mo has no agenda today. This is the chance for everyone to give input about the Festival
Mo wishes to thank each and every one of the committee members for their work on a wonderful
festival. Monday was a bust, but we made the best of the situation.
Mo received a phone call from the parent of a handicapped child, thanking the festival for the
thoughtfulness of Paulette and Debbie, who stamped the child's and brother's hands. The parent
wanted to thank the committee for letting the disability program go on. Mo stated that she knew
everyone is waiting for the announcement of who will replace her. That has yet to be decided by
the Village Board.
DeAnn Glover stated that Village Board has not chosen a new chairman yet. They are in the
process of working on it. She assumes that there will be an answer in two weeks. The Board will
send an e-mail to everyone as soon as they have decided on a chairman. The Board will also
work on what to do about the festival site for next year. The Board has received lots of good
comments and compliments regarding the festival. DeAnn extended thanks to the committee
from the Village Board
Police: Jim Newton -
This was a good year, with no major complaints. We need to look at parking behind main stage,
if we have one, next year. Mo stated that the Police did an outstanding job.
Park District: Ryan Risinger - Not present
Parade: Joe Tenerelli -
We had the usual glitches in the parade. There were 100 floats, but too many politicians.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen - No report.
Rick stated that the Styrofoam containers are downstairs, with the goodie bags.
Fire Department: Troy Shannon - Not present
Public Works: Ray Rigsby - No report
Tom Johns found the other sign for the Grand Marshal in the fire house, during the open house.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover - See above
Chamber: Steve Panitch- Not present
The chamber has not appointed someone to replace Steve.
Ron Jess stated that this was the best year ever. They tied the record for the number of kegs sold.
Food Tent: Tom Johns - no report
Tom wanted to thank everyone for the help on Monday.
Arts and Crafts: Nikki Lee/Glenda Hoelting -
Nikki stated that everything went great.
The crafters liked having the entertainment but less would be better.
Carnival: Paulette Greenberg -
Paulette stated that the Ferris wheel spritzed grease over one of the festival attendees, but the
carnival cleaned it up fast.
On the Children's Expo, there was one booth that was a no show.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg -
Karen felt that the beer tent entertainment was good, but too tight on time between acts. She felt
the Jammin' Daddies were good. The street entertainment should also be spread out more.
As for the main stage, there will be no Gary Puckett in the future.
The teen stage went well. The games were not missed.
Karen felt as this was her first year, there was nothing out of whack. She tried some new things.
She felt that this year was better than last year.
She cut back on feeding the entertainers so much food this year and it seemed to go well.
Doug deserves a lot of credit for all the work he did. He had a good sound set up for
announcements in the beer tent.
The band at the Village Tavern was to stop playing at exactly 9:20, but they did not and therefore
the music for the fireworks did not get synced up properly.
Doug thanked Ray for the beer tent power.
Fund Raisin: Sara Herman - Not present
Publicity: Chantal Davidson -
Mo stated that Chantal did a wonderful job for the first year on publicity.
Chantal stated that she needs to know what to do and who the right people are to go to .
Village Liason: Scott Anderson
Scott stated that the revenue for the festival looks down a bit from last year.
Glo Necklaces: Lori and Ron Hackett.-.
Lori stated that they sold all the necklaces before the fireworks started. She stated that the
lighting in the football field was taking away some of the business.
Lori also stated that they had someone come through the main stage area who was also selling
Glo Necklaces. That person was caught by Lori's son.
VIP Party: Pam Sorocco
The VIP Party went well. They had 75 tickets turned in, and had about 75-80 people at the party.
Everything went well, but they had food left over.
Dean's Plaque of recognition for his work on the BG Days festival was presented by DeAnn.
Joe Tenerelli made motion to adjourn.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:43
Respectfully submitted.
