Anyone who needs to renew their license or ID in the next 12 months can do so at the booth. Jim stated that the police could make it work. Since money is being exchanged for services, JV stated that the Village Trustees have to give us guidelines in regards to this. It is not political, but is providing a public service. DeAnn saw no problem with the idea and is willing to share her tent with the State for that purpose. It was mentioned that seniors and disabled individuals can get the ID's free. The State charges for the license, thus is a fee for service. They are not selling something and are not making any money. They will also need a phone line. We have talked about adding another vendor on Thursday. So far, Sara has only one for Thursday: • Cartwheels for hot dog, chips cotton candy, and snow cones. They are considering coming on Monday also. On the weekepd(Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) ; • Captain Nemos with chintitas and subs. It was stated that Subway has been in for 2 years before. They wish to return with a turkey breast sub, Italian sub, a Ham sub and a trio cold cut sub. • Cold Stone Creamy wishes to sell a bowl of ice cream with different fruit toppings. • Continental will be back with the same offerings as last year: corn beef on rye, gyros, regular and chicken gyros. • Cravings will be back again with the same offerings as last year: fries, burgers, hot dogs, and cheese and chili fries. • Dairy Queen will have the same as last year: Blizzards and root beer floats. • Lou Malinati's will be back with their deep dish pizza and Italian ice. • The Melting Pot will have the same as last year, chocolate fondue. • The Village Tavern will, again, have chicken fingers. • Yen Yen will be the same as last year with egg rolls, crabmeat Rangoon, and chicken fried rice. • Cappy's is interested in getting a food both this year and there are some restaurants from Wheeling also interested. The Vender meeting for the business fair meeting is scheduled after the restaurant meeting. JV questioned why the meetings were so close to the festival. Ron stated that there will be beer, again, this year. Sara stated that Toyota is donating the use of a van for the Arts and Crafts area but we will need a driver. Food Tent: Steve Schultz - Steve stated that the not-for-profit letters will go out tomorrow. Tom stated that he has met with the tent vendor and has a tentative agreement. Tom stated that the corn booth is still available for a not-for-profit. Tom felt that it would be nice to keep it local. There is no Buffalo Grove JC's, but is now the Buffalo Grove area JC's. If we cannot get a not-for-profit group to take the booth, we can change the booth to a for profit booth. Setup/Take down: — Arts and Crafts: Nikki Lee/Glenda Hoelting - Nikki stated that she already has 13-14 vendors signed up. Last year she had a total of 65 booths. Nikki sees no problem at this time in filling all the booths. Nikki is also looking at a different kind of vendor, a not-for-profit vendor. The Girl Scouts have expressed an interest in selling crafts that the girls had been making. It was suggested that Nikki let them in due to being a community venture and not charge for the booth. JV thought it would be best to charge for the booth, but not as much as the regular crafters, as they are competing with the other vendors. Sara stated the regular vendors would not have a problem with it as it is a community venture. Sara stated that she is talking about 2 groups of this kind. Mo made a motion to charge not-for-profit crafters $20 per booth, to get in the craft fair, and that is for a one year only commitment. The motion was passed. Karen stated that is would be good if we could have a sponsor of the whole contest. The judges will be Chicagoland entertainers. The initial audition tapes are due by July 15. They are to be a VHS tape of 3-5 minute duration. The committee members will review and help to wean down the applicants. Karen stated that she will need signage and posters to help promote the call for applicants at some expense. The Park District office has added information to their flyer about the BG Idol contest. The newspapers have been contacted. Karen stated that the TV presentation, mentioned in the chairman's report, would be a good time to promote the show and the request for applications. Doug suggested that the contest be video taped for later viewing on cable. Karen stated that the entertainment is booked. She has brought back some acts from last year, but most are relatively new. There will be Beer Tent entertainment. NIkki asked about having more time between acts in the craft fair. Karen will see what she can do. April 15th was the deadline for stage bids.
