The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.
Chairman's Report:
JV stated that the BG Days team for the Relay for Life will be dropped if no one else signs up.
Members already signed up will be incorporated into other teams.
Tom stated that the last big contract for the food tent was signed. The tent will be provided by
Indestructo again, but at a lowered price. Tom stated that we know what we are getting and the
tents will be up on time. The Portapotties have been ordered. Ray Rigsby has the generators in
line. The entertainment is booked, the main stage is in line, Astro is in line for the carnival.
Tom stated that we are now on the down hill of the work for the festival. This is the peak of the
planning aspect of the festival.
JV stated that members should check channel 6 for the "People, Places and Events" in BG. Tom
and JV. plus Karen Danenberg, Rick Kahen, and Lynn from the Chamber were all questioned
about the festival. The program is on three times a week. It is just an informational thing.
JV stated that we have another new recruit: Jody Peacock.
Police: Jim Newton—no report
Jim stated that Buffalo Grove has a new chief of police, Steve Balinski, as of last Monday. He
has worked on the police force for the last 25 years and his last position was deputy chief.
Park District: Ryan Risinger—not present
Parade: Joe Tenerelli—no report
Joe stated, when questioned, that he has not sent out any information about the parade yet. It is
too soon. If anyone is interested in a spot for the parade, they can call Joe in regards to
information at this time. Joe has a deadline date.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake—not present
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen—not present
Rick called in a report to JV that the Village Grill will supply chicken fingers for the Fun and
Food program. He will talk to 2 or3 other vendors about providing hot dogs.
Fire Department: Troy Shannon—not present
Public Works; Ray Rigsby—not present
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—not present
Chamber: Ron Jess and Sara Herman - no report
Food Tent: - Steve Schultz -
Steve stated that the not for profit letters went out two weeks ago. The boy scouts will provide
two booths of soda, one on each side of the tent.
NAAMAT will supply ice cream.
The Rotary club will run the bingo and the pancake breakfast.
Kingswood Church has not responded yet.
Setup/Take down: —
Tom stated that we will need help Monday after the festival to help take down the chairs and
tables. We will also need help on Thursday night to take down the bingo and set up for the food
vendors. The tables and chairs will have to be reset. The area will have to be cleaned and
vacuumed.
Arts and Crafts: Nikki Lee/Glenda Hoelting—not present
Carnival: Paulette Greenberg/Debbie Jess -
Sandy from Astro has someone who will supply an ATM machine if the one scheduled for the
information booth falls through. This ATM will have a person present to service and fill the
machine. The cost will be $3 per transaction.
Paulette stated that she also found a picture of first BG Days.
Children's Expo: Paulette Greenberg -
Paulette stated that the letters for the Children's Expo will go out next week. She is sending out
85 letters, hoping to get organizations to man 25 booths. The charge will be $75 for for-profit
groups and $35 for non-profit groups.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—not present
Paulette Greenberg stated Karen had no report. She did state that there are 2 BG Idol
applications in.
Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—no report
Fund Raisin: Sara Herman—not present

Publicity: - Chantal Davidson -
Chantal stated that she has talked to the newspapers: the Daily Herald and the Pioneer Press.
They want articles and Chantal is requesting ideas for these articles. Possible articles included the
Children's Expo which is in it's third this year.
JV suggested that she do an article on the Arts and Crafts area to help get crafters for the booths.
Monday's Fun and Food program is another possibility, stating that the carnival is open for the
program is from 10-11:30. At 11:30 the kids will be served lunch.
Lori stated that her boss, FCL Graphic, will sponsor the BG Idol contest.
Phil Versten left a message that the drop dead date for schedule of events for the summer Village
newsletter is June 24. He needs information by the middle of next week.
VIP Party: Pam Soracco/Mary Libby—
Pam stated that Mary Libby will be her co-chairperson. Arlene, Kerry, Audrey, and Betty Lou
have volunteered to help with the party.
The party will be on Sunday prior to the main stage act.
Pam wants to use a theme this year, possibly a Mardi Gras theme. She will look into it. She
stated that she can get 60 dozen beads for $24.
Pam stated that Sunday seems to works best for dinner, music and fireworks.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar—not present
Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—not present
Pam Soracco made a motion to adjourn.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30.
