Chairman's Report: Tom was not present JV has no report Ron Jess states that he has secured the telephones for the buses and for the information booth. Police: Jim Newton—not present Jim will be at the vendors meeting August 19. Public works will be there as well as the fire department. Park District: Ryan Risinger—not present Parade: Joe Tenerelli—Joe arrived late. The mailings went out 2 weeks ago for applications for the parade. If anyone knows anyone who wants to be in the parade, have them leave a message for Joe at the Village Hall. There is no charge to be in the parade. Joe stated that the applications were out and are now starting to trickle in. He suggested that the request for applications be placed up on the board outside of Village Hall. Mobile Com: Roger Remblake - Roger stated that he has secured the rental of the radios for the event. He will have 20 radios that will be rented for $800. The motion was made and seconded. The vote was unanimous to accept the plan as stated by Roger. Roger stated, when asked by JV, that the price was comparable to the previous years. Roger stated that he will be on site from Thursday night through Monday. He will also be monitoring the Police and Fire calls and also monitoring the cameras on campus. Fun and Food: Rick Kahen—not present All the food is set for Monday. The chicken and hot dogs are set. Fire Department: Troy Shannon—not present Public Works: Ray Rigsby—not present Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—not present Chamber: Ron Jess and Sara Herman - Sara stated that she has 22 restaurants for the weekend. For Thursday she has the following additional restaurants for approval: Dominick's wishes to serve Dove bars, fruit cups and bottled water. Penguinos wishes to serve Philly Steak sandwiches, Italian subs sandwiches, and Italian sausage sandwiches. It was suggested that Chantal needs to get the word out that there is food in the food tent for Thursday night. It will be put in the Village Newsletter. The business fair has 18 booths. One vendor may use 2 booths. Sara stated that the Business Fair is full and she will start a waiting list. Monday's food tent restaurants are still unknown. The first meeting in August will be the restaurant meeting and vendor meetings. Food Tent: - The deposit has been paid on the tent. JV stated that we need help Thursday night to break down bingo and set up the food tent. He stated that it would take about 1 hour. JV stated that the Girl Scouts will sell roasted corn this year. Setup/Take down: — JV stated that we need lots of help on Monday to take down the tables and chairs. Arts and Crafts: Nikki Lee - JV is trying to get a hold of public works about the kettle corn. Nikki stated that she has 20 booths so far. Carnival: Paulette Greenberg - no report Mary has the prototype of the volunteer pins. These will be distributed at the ticket booth after their stint in selling tickets. This is in lieu of T-shirts that we have no money for. JV made a motion to give volunteers a button. Motion was passed. Paulette is to give out the buttons to the volunteers at the ticket booth. Children's Expo: Paulette Greenberg - Paulette stated that the Countryside Newspaper errored in the BG Days article. The article stated that booths were available for $75 but did not state that the booths were for the Children's expo, and that they were for information purposes only. Paulette called to straighten it out. She has 2 paid booths and lots of phone calls. Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—not present Pioneer Press printed the application for the BG Idol contest. Karen has 8-9 tapes for audition already. Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—no report Corporate Sponsorship Sara Herman - Sara reports that they continue raising funds though corporate sponsorship. Publicity: - Chantal Davidson - not present There should be an article in the Village Newsletter this week about BG Days. VIP Party: Pam Soracco —no report Information Booth: Ken Lazar— Ken has a schedule for every two hours. Ken wants at least 1 person at the information booth at all times, but stated that two would better. Ken brought in a sign-up sheet for the two hour time frames. The information booth will also include information about the shuttle drivers for the crafters and for the Walk Arounds. Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—not present Bill is on vacation this week. Joe moved to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 Respectfully submitted.
