Chairman's Report: Tom has no report. JV has no report. Police: Mike Millett- No report Park District: Ryan Risinger - Not present Parade: Joe Tenerelli—Not present Mobile Com: Roger Remblake - Not present Fun and Food: Rick Kahen - No report Fire Department: Troy Shannon - Not present Public Works; Brett Robinson/Rick Kuhl - Not present Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover - Deann wishes to welcome back all the returning members and says that she looks forward to another year of working with the Buffalo Grove Days Committee. Chamber: Ron Jess and Sara Herman - Sara states that she has a new printing company, Aim, for the Beer Garden tickets. The tickets will be printed with gold ink to prevent counterfeiting. Aim will be placing their logo on the back of the ticket in lieu of charging for the printing. Restaurants: On April 1 st, the letters to the restaurants will be sent out to those who participated last year. They will have the first right of refusal. They will be required to respond by the 15th so that the requests will not get lost. Sara mentioned that last year, there were problems with the food vendor parking. She asked how the parking will be handled this year as she knows she will be fielding questions about the issue. JV stated that there will be changes and he will get back to her on them. Business Fair: The Business Fair letters will be sent out on April 1 st. She will meet with them closer to the event. JV stated that he has some new ideas for the Business Fair. Sara stated that last year, the police roped off the Business Fair tents at night and that there were no break-ins. Food Tent: - Steve Shultz - Not present Tom states that no letters have gone out for the not-for-profit booths yet. The signed contracts are in for the tents. Tom also states that we have the fireworks, but that we will need to coordinate with the Fire Department. He states that we will need to talk to public works later about the power and the porta-potties. Setup/Take down: — Arts and Crafts: Nikki Lee/ No report Carnival: Paulette Greenberg - Paulette states that the ticket prices will be going up this year, but she does not know how much yet. Sandy will get back to her at a later date with the increases. Children's Expo: Nikki Lee Nikki wants to be involved in the Children's Expo this year. Entertainment: Karen Danenberg— Karen states that she is getting closer with the headliners for the Main Stage. She tentatively has Saturday night scheduled. She needs to talk to Bill Brimm to find out how much money she has to work with. Karen states that she will stay within budget, but that she needs the funds from the corporate sponsorship. Karen says that on Friday and Sunday, we can only afford what we already have had, i.e. the same acts as previous years. Another option is a headliner classic band, with the band members all stars from various bands. Five guys from 5 bands, playing classic rock. The tapes for BG Idol contest will be due by June 15th. Karen will change the age for the contest, starting at 14 or 16 and up. She is also considering having two competitions, 6 members apiece, one for under 14, the other for over 14. Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe— No report Corporate Sponsorship Sara Herman - Sara is looking for a large company to be headline sponsor for the Main Stage acts. The donation would be $5000 for the Main Stage area. For that, we will place a big banner on the Main Stage and the company can put up a big balloon or something of the same sort. Sara was questioning if we will do the BG Idol. contest again this year. Karen stated yes. Sara said that the phones are set, but Tom or JV need to call Dean at the cell phone company. Sara said that the Pepsi company wishes to be the exclusive provider at the festival. Sara wanted to see if they would donate to the Boy Scouts for the right of being the exclusive provider for the festival. Rick asked if Pepsi will be willing to donate soda for the Monday Fun and Food program. He states that he needs 20 cases. Sara stated that she has another local distributor for the Pepsi on Monday. This will take more discussion at further meetings. Publicity: - Penni Jess Penni Jess has offered to work on the publicity subcommittee. Chantal will be stepping down as chairperson of the subcommittee and will be offering help to Penni. VIP Party: Pam Soracco — No report Information Booth: Ken Lazar—Not present Village Liaison: Bill Brimm— No report Other Discussion: Tom stated that we have our annual visitor Chilli Willie. He is requesting approval for selling ice cream on the carnival side. The motion was passed to allow Chilli Willie to sell ice cream on the carnival side for the 2004 Buffalo Grove Days Festival. Debbie said that she brought the books to help with ideas for new committee shirts this year. Karen proposed that the BG Days Festival get placed on the Buffalo Grove village sticker. Bill Brimm stated that this has already been discussed. Nikki stated that she has the Friends of the Greyhounds interested in being somewhere at the BG days. They are involved in gaining adoptions for retired race dogs and would be bring dogs with them. JV stated that we cannot have dogs on the campus and he is not sure if it will work. Jane stated that it would be hard to tell festival patrons they cannot bring in their dogs when there are dogs at a booth at the festival. JV states to ask him next meeting. Karen moved to adjourn, Pam seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 7:35.
