Carnival: Paulette Greenberg -
Paulette stated that Sandi of Astro has increased the prices for the tickets.
On Thursday, the all-evening price will be $15, while it will be $16 for all-day on Monday, both
for the one-price wristbands. Paulette stated that Sandi told her that the prices for tickets for
other festivals were raised even higher than for us. The price of single tickets has also gone up.
For presale, 30 tickets will cost $24. This is up from up from 40 tickets for $23.
Paulette stated that Sandi also wants to change the hours on Saturday and Sunday, to open at
1:00 PM. Paulette suggested that the carnival opens at 12:30 on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
to make the opening times uniform. Closing times on Saturday and Sunday will be 11:00. On
Thursday the close time will be 10:00 due to it being a school night.
Mike stated that the police had no problem with the new start time. Bill Brimm stated that the
village had no problems with the new start time. Paulette stated that the posters will state that the
carnival will be open from 12:30 to close. Monday the carnival ends at 6:30. The buses will have
to run until 6:30 or 7PM. It was decided that the carnival will close at 6 on Monday.
Paulette stated that the contract for Astro was signed in October.
Children's Expo. Nikki Lee—
Nikki was not present but Paulette stated that Nikki has talked to her about the Expo and that it
will be hands-on this year. Nikki plans to call it Kidzz Bizz this year. Nikki already has a couple
of booths signed up.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—
Karen states that she has one band booked. That is for Saturday night.
She is contemplating, depending on the money available, another band for Friday.
For the BG Idol contest, there will be internet site in a week or so to allow contestants to get
applications. She has changed the contest to include two groups, the first, ages 10 through 14.
The other group will be ages 15 through 19. Applications must be in by July 15 so that the
committee can begin to look at the tapes and applications. At the beginning of August, she will
start to recruit judges for the contest.
Adam had a suggestion that on Sunday afternoon there be an "open mike" session in the beer tent
for the kids who are not in BG Idol. He said that the kids could come in and sign up. There
would be no charge. This would be for anybody, not just kids. Adam was thinking about
Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00. Karen stated that they worked hard to get people over to the main
stage for the kid's expo and the kid's entertainment and she felt that open mike would take away
from that crowd. She stated that she has no problem with open mike in the evening or when
nothing else is going on with the Main Stage. Adam is trying to prevent people from leaving the
beer tent when they are just sitting around, without entertainment. JV does not want to promote
bringing kids into the beer tent,
Karen has no problem with having an open mike on Monday, when there will be no beer in that
tent. JV stated that he wished to table the idea for tonight. He wants to talk about it next
meeting.
Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—

Corporate Sponsorship Sara Herman -
Sara states that they have already raised money for the festival for this year.
Karen stated that adding a sponsor for each night of entertainment has been great for the
Entertainment sub-committee.
Publicity: - Penni Jess
Paulette stated that on May 16 the Daily Herald is publishing an article regarding all the festivals
in the area for the summer. Debbie Jess stated that Penni will write something up and send it
through. JV suggested that it include information on the BG Idol contest, the carnival, and that
there will be live entertainment. No specifics should be given as we have no contracts signed for
the entertainment yet.
