ground has already been moved.
JV stated that he would like to know where the goal posts will go.
Police: Mike Millett-
Mike states that he is putting together the man power and scheduling requirements for the
police for the festival. JV questioned if the police cadets will be helping again this year. He
stated that they were a big help on Lake Cook road. Mike stated that he is not sure if there are
cadets anymore. He said that the police have a large number of volunteers who want to be
involved in the festival. He not sure if they will be involved in traffic control. He felt that the
volunteers could assist an officer in the traffic control.
Park District: Ryan Risinger - Not present
Parade: Joe Tenerelli - Not present
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -
Roger states that he has nothing at this point. He is waiting for a quote on the radios and will
have a report at the next meeting. In answer to a question from JV, he said that we are
looking at the same relative price for the radios as last year. Roger stated that last year, they
had a tent on the vehicle of Mobil Com for the police and fire officers to get out to the sun or
rain and it worked out well. They will have it again this year.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen - Not present

Fire Department: Troy Shannon—Not present
Public Works; Brett Robinson/Rick Kuhl—Not present

Chamber: Ron Jess and Sara Herman -
Sara stated that she has another restaurant for approval.
Cafe Winberie wishes to serve cedar planked salmon, vegetarian chili and Toll House pie ala
mode. Debbie questioned the ice cream served with the pie. There have been issues about
other restaurants wishing to sell ice cream. It was decided that the ice cream can only be
served on pie.
Sara stated that on Thursday, we will have Little Italian pizza. We do not have the Outback
yet. They did not serve on Thursday night last year due to a prior commitment.
Sara stated that Bruce from Dorfler's wishes to do a swap with the committee. If we want him
to grill for the VIP Party on Friday night, he will bring the grills and do all the cooking. In
exchange, he wishes to serve on Thursday night without paying for the booth. Sara does not
yet know what he will serve.
Sara asked about serving pizza at the Teen Stage this year. She stated that there are two
restaurants, Rosati's and the Oven, both in Arlington Heights that wish to do a coke and a
pizza thing. JV stated that Sara can let each pizza restaurant serve one night at the Teen
Stage. She needs to make it clear to them that we cannot guarantee any sales at the Teen
Stage. The teen stage will run on Friday from 8-10 PM, and Saturday from 7-10 PM.
Sara has not contacted Dominick's yet, who is interested in coming for the entire weekend. A
vote was taken regarding the restaurants. Winberie's was approved for the food. Little Italian
was approved for Thursday night. The pizza for the Teen stage was approved. Sara stated
that so far, Cartwheels is the only restaurant for Thursday.
Food Tent: Steve Shultz -
Steve stated that he has contacted everybody in the not-for-profit group. The Rotary Club has
not responded yet and he has not been able to reach anyone. They always run bingo and
pancake breakfast. JV stated he is sure they will be participating again this year. Steve stated
that he has also been unable to reach the Crohn's and Colitis Disease group. He understands
that there was the same problem last year. The group has been there for years and he can't
image they are not coming. Steve also said that the Buffalo Grove VFW has disbanded and
will be joining with Arlington Heights VFW. They still want to participate. JV stated that
Steve should ride with the idea that the Rotary Club and the Crohn's and Colitis Disease
groups will participate. Steve stated that right now, the not-for-profits booths are filled, with
no openings.

Tom stated that we all are on set up. We all are on take down.

Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—
Karen states that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights are booked.
The Crying Shames will perform on Friday night. On Saturday, Mikki Thomas' Starship will
perform.
On Sunday the Fabulous Janes will perform. Before that on Sunday, Phil Jacobson, the winner
of the BG Idol contest from last year, will perform. Karen stated that Paulette sat at the Park
District open house a few weeks ago to hand out applications for the contest. Information
regarding the contest is also on the marquis outside of Village Hall. Karen stated that
everything else is as usual. She has two care bears for walk-arounds. She also has the Staley
bear. She has the Beer tent entertainment put together. Two girls with their hair done-up in
beehives will perform 40 and 50's music. There will be the group Joey B and the Rockers.
Another group for the Beer tent is Mistress for the Late Night. For the Friday night Karaoke,
she will have a live band playing for it. The Disability Program is the same. For the Teen
Stage, we will have A to Z on both Friday and Saturday nights. There is a local kid band
playing live on Saturday night. She will have 2 acts each day in the craft area. There were 4
acts per day last year. Mr. Mime will be at the festival, also. The Police Canine group that
performs on Saturday has Popeye. Mike will find out if the police still have the robot. He
stated that it is in a closet at the police station. There is a live group over at the Rotary Green
Park on Sunday night. We will have to check with the Rotary about power. Karen stated that
the most important part of the entertainment is that we are under budget.
Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—
Doug stated that we will need to consult with the park district in regards to the PA since there
will be a live band at the Teen Stage.
Corporate Sponsorship Sara Herman -
Sara stated that they continue to raise money for the festival. Sara informed the committee
that the Buffalo Grove Bank and Trust will be donating $1000. For any new account opened
at the BG branch, they will give $10. The $1000 is guaranteed. They will donate more if the
accounts opened from now to the festival are more than 100.
PublicityL Penni Jess -
Penni stated that she has e-mailed the articles for the first summer issue of the village
newsletter. She said that the village is not sure if they will do a BG Days issue of the
newsletter. She is also working to get things together for the newspapers. Penni also
requested that if any committee members find any of the BG Days articles in the paper, please
give her the extra copies.
VIP Party: Pam Soracco —
Lynne from the Chamber has sent out inquiries to the village business people for donations for
the party. Pam stated that she already has committed 4 side dishes for the VIP Party. None
are main dishes. Pam made a motion to approve the skirt steaks at $2.50 per person, and
potatoes at 50 cents for a total of 300 people. Pam states that she can always decrease the
number closer to the festival. Paulette seconded the motion. The motion was approved. Sara
suggested that when the letters go out for the VIP Party, they ask the companies for an RSVP
to get a better count of the attendees. Pam is coordinating the tickets with Sara. Pam has a
question for Karen about the time of the party and the need to have some entertainment.
Karen asked if they can pipe music into the tent. Doug is saying that if we can get the sound
people to come early and set up the Beer Tent Stage, it would be helpful for the VIP party
entertainment. Karen will try to get a speaker into the tent. Pam just wanted to have
entertainment somewhere near the party. The VIP Party will run on Friday from 5:30 to 7:30.
After the party, the attendees can pull up a chair and stay for the Main Stage entertainment.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar—Not present
Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—Not present
JV wanted to discuss the shirts tonight. He stated that he does not wish to change the color.
Sara stated that BG residents know that if they have questions during the festival, to go to a
person in a teal shirt. JV is looking at options of getting either t-shirts or golf shirts.
Discussion occurred and the possibility of a Henley shirt, one with no collar with a button
down front, might work for the women on the committee. JV stated that there is no problem
about the color, that the color teal is set. He stated that samples will be brought in at the next
meeting for the style of shirt. All the men want the golf shirt. Ladies will choose what they
like next week.
The next meeting will be on June 22, 2004 at 7:00 at the Village Hall.
Pam made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:13.
Respectfully submitted.
