Chairman's Report:
Tom is not here tonight.
The absolute deadline for the BG Days Village newsletter edition is July 21. JV has copies of
last year's newsletter from Phil to help with this year's copy.
JV stated that we are starting BG Days later than last year, which gives us some extra time.
Last year's BG Days was over before this year's starts.
JV stated that he received a letter from school district 96's Foundation for Educational
Excellence. They want to set up a booth in the bingo tent to hand out literature about their
organization and sell discount cards. They also wish to have a booth from 10-4 on Saturday
and Sunday for the same purpose.
JV stated that the Rotary may have problem with using their tent on bingo night. Paulette
asked about the other two school districts in BG and the parochial schools. If we allow it for
one, then we will have to allow it for another. Mo stated that there was something similar that
happened years before. The present group wants to fund raise. In the past, it was about a
referendum. Mo stated that in the past instance, we were forced to accept the booth. We had
to move the booth several times to keep everyone happy. It was suggested in this case that
since the Kidz BIzz was on Saturday, they can get a booth there. The Kidz Bizz runs
froml 1-6. Exhibitors can only sell something in the Kidz Bizz fair, not at the Business Fair. It
was suggested that if we allow this with District 96, that it may cause problems with the other
school districts. Mary made a motion to offer the Foundation for Educational Excellence a
booth at the Kidz Bizz Fair from 11-5 on Saturday, for a cost of$35 to participate. The
motion was carried.
Police: Mike Millett-
Mike stated that he got a phone call from Arlington Toyota. They wish for Mike to bring to
the committee a project they would like to run during the festival. It is something they would
be spending a lot of money on, to get operation Kids Safe going. Mike stated that he checked
it out and it is a reputable project. In the project, they fingerprint children for later
identification, if needed. The service would be provided free for any parents who wish. All
information would be returned to the parents. Arlington Toyota would not be establishing a
data base to later contact the parents. Mike stated that, to his knowledge, a child has never
been found using fingerprints. The Police Department would not be involved at all with the
project. If the parent wanted to allow the police department to use the information, it would
be completed. JV asked if photos would be taken. Mike was unsure. He stated that Jim, the
marketing manager at Arlington Toyota could be contacted in regards to further questions.
This is totally free, subsidized by Toyota.
Mike also stated that the Police Department had no reservation about this project. Arlington
Toyota would rent a booth from us for the project. It was suggested that Arlington Toyota
could sponsor the Kidz Bizz Expo on Saturday. JV gave the letter regarding the project to the
Chamber for their follow up. The Police Department will not be endorsing. it.
Mike told Karen that the police electric car item does not work.

Joe stated that 100 applications were mailed out a week ago. They are starting to trickle back
in.

that we offer each band $500 this year to participate in the parade. JV instructed Joe to tell
them that he has authorization for $500. We have 4 bands in the parade.
Joe said that we need to pay for the Schriner's. If we don't get the Schriner's then we don't
have much of a parade. Joe stated that the Prospect High School band is not participating in
Mt. Prospect's band parade this year because of too many people with water guns.
Joe announced that Paul Soucy will be Grand Marshal this year. Joe brought the Committee's
recommendation to DeAnn. She brought it to the board who officially appointed concurred
with the recommendation for Paul Soucy as Grand Marshal.

are new to the festival. The communication has been difficult with them. Sara is asking if it
would be possible to offer them Thursday night to get their feet wet in serving at the festival.

he has for the not for profits. That will allow room for the extra restaurant. Sara will bring in
the menu for Buca di Beppo at the next meeting.

after the festival closes, at the Village Grill.
JV questioned the issue with the shirts. The committee voted to keep same color. The women
