Chairman's Report: JV and Tom are not present tonight. JV is at the Vendor meeting Tom has been called in to work. Karen is running the meeting. . No chairperson's report tonight. Police: Mike Millett-Not present Mike is over at the Vendor meeting tonight. Park District: Ryan Risinger-Not present Parade: Joe Tenerelli - He has 69 units for the parade this year. Tonight, after the meeting, he will set up the line up for the parade. Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -Not present Fun and Food: Rick Kahen -Not present Fire Department: George Michehl-Not present He is over at the Vendor's meeting. Public Works, Brett Robinson/Rick Kuhl - No report Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover- She has no report Karen asked DeAnn to remind everyone about the last meeting. DeAnn stated that after the last meeting, which is August 31, we will go across the street to Village Grill for a Kick Off party. Everyone pays $5. Chamber: Ron Jess and Sara Herman - Sara stated that the Double Tree hotel in Palatine will donate 5 hotel rooms to the festival. They will also use their van to take the bands from the hotel to Main Stage area. They will also pick them up and take them back to the hotel after the concert. Sara wishes to get the names of the band members. Karen will get them to her. Sara stated that in regards to the food list for Thursday, she may add on Dominick's for Thursday night. They may wish to serve dessert if they are a big sponsor for the festival. Sara stated that this would be for Thursday only. This will give us 5 restaurants for Thursday night. They include Little Italian, Berruti's Deli, Cartwheels, and Kaleidoscoops Ice Cream, plus Dominick's. Sara stated that the Business Fair may be full, she is not sure. She stated that someone may back out. Food Tent: Steve Shultz - Not present Setup/Take down: — Karen stated that we all know what to do. Arts and Crafts: Nikki Lee -No report Sara stated that she has all the Arts and Crafts parking passes for Nikki. Mary took them and placed them in the Village Office for Nikki to pick up. Carnival: Paulette Greenberg - Paulette stated that she has the ticket booth sign up sheets. She reminded everyone that if they have no permanent assignment during the festival, they are expected to work in the ticket booth. The carnival is the revenue generating venue of the festival. She reminded everyone that Thursday and Monday are wristband days. Paulette stated that the prime spots in the ticket booth are available. Paulette also reported that in regards to Toys R Us, we are not getting a donation. They have had a major corporate change with a replaced area manager. All donations already approved have been rescinded. They will not be paying for the booth. It had been decided between Sara, Nikki, and Paulette to ask for a donation in lieu of paying of the booth. Toys R US will still bring in the power cars. Geoffrey is probably not coming. The new management feels that Geoffrey should only be used for in store promotions. Paulette's contact person at Toys R Us states that she has promised Geoffrey to 5 venues already that weekend. Karen asked if Geoffrey could come to the parade. Paulette is not sure. Karen stated that, either way, the power cars will bring in people. Sara stated that Toyota wanted to know where we are setting up the track for the cars. Children's Expo: Nikki Lee -Not present Entertainment: Karen Danenberg— Karen stated that she has had the first BG Idol rehearsal. She has 6 very young, lovely, children, coming to learn their numbers. Other than that, she has nothing to report. Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe— Doug asked if she will draw up a map telling the bands where to park, since it is in a new location this year. Karen stated that she has already done so and sent it out with their materials. Doug stated that he talked to Bill Balling about the Rotary Club PA system last week. Bill needs to talk to the Rotary Club and has not gotten back to Doug yet. Corporate Sponsorship Sara Herman - Sara stated that they continue to raise money for the festival. Sara states that she still has some big sponsors "waiting in the clouds". They have not gotten back to her yet. They include Chicago Indoor Racing, Bank of America, who Sara hopes will sponsor the parade, and Dominick's, who she hopes will sponsor the fireworks, are the big sponsors she is working with. Publicity: Penni Jess— No report from Penni. Karen talked to Phil Versten about the Village Newsletter. Penni re-wrote the letter this year. Presently it is sitting at the Daily Herald. Karen is concerned that it was not reviewed by all sub chair persons prior to being sent to the Daily Herald. Debbi stated that Penni did not send it on her own without review, but did so under the direction of Phil. VIP Party: Pam Soracco—Not present Mary is reporting for Pam. Pam got 20 cases of water for the Fun and Food program and for the VIP Party from Culligan. Pam reports that Culligan may be interested in doing the same promotional as Hinkley and Schmidt at the festival this year. Karen stated that there may be a conflict in that. Karen stated that this item will be tabled until next week. Mary stated that, other than that, party is on. Information Booth: Ken Lazar—No report Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—No report Karen stated that there are only 2 meeting left. We will have the shirts by the last meeting. If you did not order a shirt by last week, it is too late to order. Paulette made a motion to adjourn. Mary seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 7:25.
