The meeting was called to order at 7:09 PM.
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
Paulette stated that JV is at the vendor meeting tonight. She also stated that we have 2 weeks to
go before the festival. She announced that the newsletters are here and will be in the Buffalo
Grove homes by the end of the week. She has some copies here tonight if anyone wants to take
one. The brochures are here also. They are in a tri-fold format, and include the entertainment,
the bus routes and the schedule of events.
Police: Mike Millett-
Mike was not present. He was at the vendor meeting tonight.
Park District: Terri Ebner—
Teri has no report.
Parade: Joe Tenerelli/Ken Lazar -
Joe was not present. He gave his "no report"to Jane.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -
Roger went on his own and bought a misting hose due to his concern about possible heat
problems at the festival. The fire department has misting fans but not actual misters.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mo Welborn -
Rick stated that he has no report. Paulette asked if he had gone shopping for Monday. Rick said
no. Paulette wants to coordinate the shopping for everything we need for all the special
programs. Rick stated that he needs help for the shuttle on Sunday.
Fire Department: George Michehl -
George was not present. He was at the vendor meeting.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson -
Dave was not present. He was at the vendor meeting.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—
DeAnn had no report.
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Sharon Feld—
Sharon reminded everyone of the softball game on Wednesday, August 30rh at Emmerick Park at
7:00.
They are set for restaurants with 17. Five of the restaurants will stay on Monday.
The Business Fair and the food vendor meetings are tonight. Sharon reminded everyone that if
any committee members want to be Friends of the Fest, they need to write a check to the Friends
of the Fest and give it to her tonight. Karen stated that she always has to buy food for the Main
Stage entertainers. She asked Sharon to check if any of the vendors want to donate food for the
entertainers.
Food Tent: Steve Schultz/Sandi Carothers -
Steve was not present. He was at the vendor meeting.
Setup/Take down: Steve Antman—
Steve was not present. Paulette stated that we all will be there.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak -
Jim stated that he has 55 total crafters. He is still waiting for 2 stragglers. Jim stated that he will
put out a sign up sheet for drivers for the van on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings and
evenings. The sign up sheet will be out tonight. He will need a copy of the front and back of the
driver's license. Paulette stated that even if you think you can help with the van, give a copy of
your license. It must be on file with the car rental company for you to drive.
Dessert Challenge: Jane Primack/Joan Pawlak -
Jane stated that she has not received any new applications for the contest. She still has 3 Adults
and 1 Junior. She has ordered 6 Silver Spoon awards. She will be shopping for more first place
awards this weekend. She just needs more applications for the contest.
Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Ken Carothers
Chuck stated that he needs grillers. He has received 5 applications to date.
Paulette stated that Weber will be delivering the grills on Friday morning, and will pick them up
on Tuesday morning. The committee supplies the charcoal and the sprits stuff. Any leftovers are
donated to BGRA.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Jess -
Penni stated that they have sign up sheets tonight for the air conditioned ticket booths.
They need lots of volunteers for the booths.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—
Karen had no report.
Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—
Doug stated that he is contacting the acts at the Beer Tent and the Teen Stage regarding their
specific needs.
Publicity: Lori Hackett/Dan Olbur
Lori and Dan had no report.

Hal and Jim had no report.
Jim wants to get a big photo of the entire committee after the next meeting. He wants pictures of
the entire committee and a picture of the sub committee chairs persons.
Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett-
Lori had no report.
VIP Party: Sara Ciolli/Arlene Kozemzak—
Arlene stated that they are doing well on responses for donors for food for the party.
A wine distributor in Wheeling will donate 2 cases of wine for the party.
She went to the Chamber cage today with Sara and found a lot of decorations from last year so
they will not be buying ay new decorations this year. She stated that she and Sara will shop at
GFS with a donation gift certificate for needed food. Arlene stated that she will have a volunteer
list next week for those willing to pick up food. She talked to Wal-mart, who was very gracious
in helping out with donations for the party.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar—
Ken will be there at the information booth.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman -
Rhonda had the permission slips for the Juniors. If kids have friends, they can also volunteer.
Rhonda stated that the kids can e-mail, Fax, or mail in the applications.
Rhonda will send another e-mail of a schedule of the walk arounds. Any Junior wishing to
schedule for the walk around can e-mail it back. Karen reminded Rhonda that Joe will need 4
Juniors to hold the signs for the parade. Rhonda will see what she can do.
Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—
Bill had no report.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Jane reminded everyone that the next meeting will be at the Police Department. She will send out
e-mails as reminders also. Sanjay asked when was set up on Thursday night. The response was s
around 10:30 PM after Bingo. DeAnn questioned Rick on the bus route for the Buddy Baseball.
Rick responded that it will go from the golf dome, to the skate park to the miracle field. An
NWSRA bus will be providing the transportation. It will not be one of the buses on the bus route.
Paulette stated that she got two vans from Enterprise on reserve, one that seats 12 and one that
seats 15. One van can be picked up on Friday morning and one on Saturday morning. She is
unsure which van will be available which day.
Pam made a motion to adjourn. Arlene seconded the motion.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:33.
