The meeting was called to order at 7:12 PM.
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV reminded everyone that the softball game will be at 7 PM Wednesday night. Bingo will be on
Thursday and begin at 6:30. After Bingo everyone will change over the tent to the Food Tent.
He gave a rundown of entertainment on the Main Stage. Doug and Adam will need help on
Sunday to help set up equipment for the fireworks' sound. The fireworks start at 9:15.
JV reminded everyone to be there on Monday morning at 10:30 in the Food Tent to set up the
lunches for the Fun and Food program. They will serve the lunches at about 12:30.
If you are looking for something to do, find Mo.
The Buddy Baseball game will be at the Kendrigan field on Sunday at 3:30.
When questioned, JV sated that people need to be there about 10:30 on Thursday night to switch
the Bingo Tent to the Food Tent.
Police
Mike stated that communications are everything for the festival. Our goals of success are safety.
He asked that everyone have their eyes and ears open during the festival.
Committee members are encouraged to approach anyone with police shirts with concerns or
issues.
Mike stated that everything is looking real good. The staffing is good.
He will have officers from the Lake County Gang Task Force assisting the police. Mike said that
their intelligence shows that things are calm right now in regards to gang activity. The Lake
County Task Force will be with us for the weekend.
Sgt. Kristiansen will have the convincer, which is a seat belt demonstrator for the festival. It will
be set up outside of the Public Works garage entrance in the craft area.

Park District: Terri Ebner—
Teri stated that Park District is looking forward to another wonderful festival.
JV thanked Teri for all her hard work
Parade: Joe Tenerelli/Ken Lazar -
Joe stated that everything is set to go. Ken will need a golf cart for the parade. Parade Marshals
are to meet at 11:00 to 11:30 at Regent and Bernard. Parade Marshals can stop by the
Information Booth and be taken over there on golf carts.
JV thanked Joe for all his work.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -
Roger stated that Mobile Com is the communications of the festival which includes with the
Police and Fire personnel. It also includes communications with committee members and with Joe
on the parade route.
He stated that not everyone gets a radio. Check at the Information Booth to see if you get one.
They will know.
He reminded everyone to stay on the channel of the radio that is set when you are given it.
In contacting Mobile Com, use the term Mobil Com only, no first names. Mobil Com cannot go
directly to any specific committee member. They are looking to report given information as soon
as possible. When reporting an incident, please give them as much information as possible. He
said that we are the eyes and ears of the festival. Mobil Com will also be in communication with
bus drivers. Roger stated that the radios for the parade route will be set for a different channel. If
you find any lost parents, get them to Mobil Com or to the information booth. Contact Mobil
Com ASAP. Roger stated that our recovery rate is in seconds and minutes for lost parents. The
radio batteries will last a shift. He suggested that everyone trade out batteries for good ones
during the day. Mobile Com will check out with any venues they have not heard from. JV stated
Mobil Com works hard. He thanked them for all their work. JV reminded everyone that
whatever you say on the radios goes out to EVERYONE!
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/1VIo Welborn -
Rick stated that he is good to go. He has a face painter coming on Monday at 11:00 for the kids.
He anticipates 400 to500 people for the event. The Buddy Baseball game is on Sunday. For the
Fun and Food program, please show up at 10:30 at the Food Tent to pack lunches. JV thanked
Rick for all his hard work.
Fire Department: George Michehl -
George stated that he has made headway with the Grilling Challenge. The Fireworks will be on
Sunday at 9:15 PM. Other than that, he is ready to go. JV thanked George for all of his hard
work.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson -
Dave stated that everything is good to go. Karen wanted to know about special treatment for
mosquitoes at night. Dave will check into it. JV thanked Dave and his crew for all their hard
work.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—
DeAnn stated she wanted to thank all the committee members on behalf of the Village Board and
the resident of Buffalo Grove for all the hard work. She reminded everyone to take some time to
be with your families. She encouraged everyone to have a good time but reminded them that they
will be tired. Jane thanked DeAnn for helping out the committee so much.
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Sharon Feld—
Sharon stated that they are good to go. For Corporate Sponsorship, they took in just under
$30,000. The restaurant Hot Shots will not be serving on Thursday night. There will still be food
for Bingo night. JV thanked Sharon and the Chamber for all of their hard work.
Food Tent: Steve Schultz/Sandi Carothers -
Steve stated that he is ready to roll and is looking forward to it. JV thanked Steve for all of his
hard work.
Setup/Take down: Steve Antman—
Steve stated that he is expecting the good weather to continue for the weekend.
In regards to set up and take down, everyone be there. JV thanked Steve in advance for all his
hard work.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak -
Jim stated that they are ready to go. They have 55 vendors. JV thanked Jim and Joan for all their
hard work.
Dessert Challenge: Jane Primack/Joan Pawlak -
Jane stated that she has 8 Juniors and 7 Adults for the contest this year. Applications will be
accepted until Friday afternoon. JV thanked Jane for all her hard work.
Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Ken Carothers
Chuck stated that he has 15 contestants. He has first, second and third place prizes this year.
JV thanked Chuck for all his hard work.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Jess -
Debra stated that they still need help in the ticket booth on Friday and Saturday nights from 8:00
to close. She reminded committee members who are working in the booths that the new ticket
booths will be much smaller and we cannot hold prizes and stuffed animals for people wanting to
go on the rides. Debra stated that the Fire Department will be there on Thursday for the carnival
inspection. JV thanked Debra for all her hard work.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—
Karen stated that the ads are running in the Daily Herald. Everything is accounted for.
Everything is ready to go. She reminded everyone about parking behind the Mains Stage. The
bands and their people have priority for parking. JV thanked Karen for her hard work.
Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—
Doug stated that he is ready to go. He mentioned that the grass under the beer tent is soft. He is
concerned about the equipment and the patrons in the tent. Doug stated that the Teen Stage
bands usually drive in the dip behind the tennis courts. Because of the recent rains, they will have
to take the bands over the sidewalks. He reminded Dave that he will need power on Kendrigan
field. Doug reminded everyone that they can always use help behind the Beer Tent at night to
move equipment. Adam stated that the Main Stage will be delivered between 9 and 10 on Friday.
The sound company will be there around 11:30 on Friday to set up. Adam said that on Saturday,
the back line will be delivered between 4:00 and 5:00. They are set for the sound system in the
craft area. JV thanked Doug and Adam for all their hard work.
Publicity: Lori Hackett/Dan Olbur
Dan stated that the newsletter is out there. JV thanked Dan and Lori for all their hard work.

Jim stated that they are already working and will be there for the festival. Jim reminded everyone
that right after the meeting, he wants to get a total group shot. JV thanked Jim and Hal for all
their hard work.
Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett-
Lori stated she is good to go. JV thanked Lori for her hard wok with the glow necklaces.
VIP Party: Sara Ciolli/Arlene Kozemzak—
Arlene stated that she is all set for the set up and decorating for the party. She needs one more
person for the food pick up. She requested that committee members do not show up at the VIP
party for food until at least 7:45 PM. Arlene stated that she will have Peggy from the Health
Department over to check things out. JV thanked Arlene and the Chamber for all her hard work.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar—
Ken was not present.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman -
Rhonda stated that she will have 16 kids, but she still has spaces where she needs help. Contact
her if you can help her. JV thanked Rhonda for her work with the Juniors.
Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—
Bill had nothing to report. He thanked everyone for their work, on behalf of the Village Staff.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Paulette stated that the t-shirts are in. She said that if you need to borrow a golf cart during the
weekend, see her or JV. We will have a floating radio for people with special events that need it.
JV thanked everyone for the sacrifice they will go through this weekend for the festival. JV
encouraged everyone to spend some time with their family during the weekend. JV reminded
everyone that we are the extra set of eyes for the police.
If you see a kid alone, stop and see why.
Mo made a motion to adjourn. Sandi seconded the motion.
