Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV thanked everyone for coming to the meeting, especially on such a bad night.
Paulette stated that they are still planning the 50rh celebration of Buffalo Grove and there will be a
few new events at the festival this year. The emphasis for the festival is to have activities that they
would have had 50 years ago.
On June 21, Chicagoland Northwest Classic Car Club will present a car show during the day. For
anyone wanting to enter a car in the show, the car must be pre 1981. The entry fee is $15. There
is a sock hop scheduled for that night from 7-10 with Dick Biondi as host DJ.
Paulette also stated that she found small stuffed buffalos in the Buffalo, New York airport. She
traced down the seller, who lives in Wheeling. They bought 250 and will be selling "Bobby the
Bison" at the Car show in June. Any animals left over will be sold at BG Days.

Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mo Welborn—not present
Rick e-mailed his report to Jane. The Buddy Baseball game will be moved to Saturday at 11:00.
That way, there will be no conflict with the parade and the earlier time will hopefully preclude
issues with the hot weather.

Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson—not present
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—
DeAnn announced that everyone was reappointed to the committee. DeAnn stated that there will
be a number of celebrations for Buffalo Grove's 50rh anniversary. There will be a dinner on
March 7rh. There will also be an open house at the Village Hall on March 8 and 9 with cake and
the opportunity to sign the scroll for the time capsule. There will also be an open house on April
27rh, an out door event with the police and fire equipment. This will encompass the entire Village
campus. In June, there will be the car show and the sock hop. In July, there will be the Art Fair.
The Park District will be presenting the play the "Music Man" in two weekends in July. The BG
Singers will be singing and there will be an ice cream social on August 3. The culmination of the
50rh celebration will be BG Days 2008. We will bury a time capsule on Monday September 1 at
2:30 near the flag pole.
DeAnn also stated that the Village Board is taking bids this year for the fireworks. JV reminded
DeAnn to make sure George was involved in that process as he is in charge of the fireworks for
the festival.

Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Life source wants to be at the festival on Thursday and Friday for people to give blood.
For incentive, it is being considered giving donors 10 carnival tickets for donating blood.
Jane said thanks to everyone for helping to complete the roster. She reminded everyone to get
their oaths in by or at the next meeting. DeAnn said that there is a charge of$15 per oath that is
returned late.
Jim said that there will be a slide show of last year's festival at the next meeting.
Paulette stated that one of the new things this year is a bachelor/bachelorette contest. Betty Lou
has offered to run this contest for people 62 and older. They have to be single.
They will bring a decorated box lunch, which will be numbered. The lunches will then be
auctioned off.
Paulette stated that they are burying the time capsule Monday of BG Days around 2:30, around
the flagpole. Pioneer Press is sponsoring the event.
Rhonda made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Jim seconded the motion.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:40.
Respectfully submitted,
Jane Primack
