Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg Paulette stated that JV is at the vendor meeting. Paulette said that there are 2 weeks to go before the festival. She has the embroidered shirts, either polo shirts or denim shirts for those who requested them last meeting. Paulette stated that the meeting next week will be at the Village Grill. Everyone is on their own for food/dinner. The Buffalo Grove Days brochures are at Post Office and should be delivered to the BG residents in the next few days. Paulette reminded everyone to wear their blue shirts for the August 26 meeting for the pictures. Paulette said that the she has a list of signs and banners from Dave, based on last year's banners. Please check to see if there are any changes. Paulette gave heads up that the old Astro carnival tickets were refused at the Northbrook day. They are now North American Midwest Entertainment. There may be problems this year when the tickets are refused. Police: Mike Millett- Mike was not present. Park District: Terri Ebner— Teri stated she has no report. She stated that everything is going great. Parade: Joe Tenerelli/Ken Lazar - Joe stated that he has received 75 applications. He expects more to sneak in by the deadline of August 15. Joe stated that he will need 10 committee members on the parade route, and has 5 signed up already. He will be completing the final mailing for the parade this week. Jane asked about the vehicle for the Grand Marshal. She has a friend with a 1956 replica of a convertible. Joe will get back to Jane on that. Mobile Com: Roger Remblake - Roger was not present. Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mo Welborn - Rick stated that he is good to go and has no report. Fire Department: George Michehl - George was not present. Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson - Dave was not present. Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover— DeAnn has no report. Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Sharon Feld— Sharon stated that all the restaurants are set. The Business Fair has a waiting list. Food Tent: Steve Schultz/Sandi Carothers - Steve was not present. Setup/Take down: Steve Antman— Steve wants to know when the Indestructo guys will arrive. Paulette will check. Other than that, he has no report. Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak - Jim stated that they will finish up with 61 crafters. Jim said that he still needs drivers for Saturday and, Monday. Jim said to see him to get scheduled to drive. Dessert Challenge: Jane Primack/Joan Pawlak - Jane stated that she has 6 adults and 6 kids for the contest. She has sent out letters for the judges with no response back yet. Jane also stated that she got 10 gift certificates from Culver's for a scoop/cone of ice cream for the kid's prizes. Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Ken Carothers Chuck has about a dozen participants, but needs more. He encouraged everyone to tell their friends. Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Jess - Debra confirmed that the carnival will do the Disability program again, and they will continue to do it for years to come. Debra and Penni have sign up sheets for the ticket booth. Entertainment: Karen Danenberg— It will be announced from the Main Stage on Friday night that Buffalo Grove will have a blood drive on Saturday. The Village has approved a variance for a 20x20 foot birthday balloon to be erected by the Main Stage for the entire weekend. Karen stated that everything else is good. Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe— Doug stated that they are set and. good to go Adam wants a tent for the merchandising for the bands, as in CD's. Ken offered his tent. Adam also stated that we need a couple of vegetarian meals, 2 different nights. Doug asked about getting rid of the tables in back of beer tent. Paulette stated she checked with Lynne, who stated that they need it for storage. They also need it for walk a around area. Doug asked about pushing the tables against the truck. Paulette will check. Publicity: Lori Hackett/Dan Olbur Lori stated she had no report. She said that she has the ads in the paper Photography: Hal Norman/Jim Pawlak - Hal stated that he is already working. Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett- Lori state that she has not heard the necklaces have come in yet. VIP Party: Sara Ciolli/Arlene Kozemzak— Arlene stated that they have a lot of food vendor that have not responded. She will have to call. They only have 6 vendors. Arlene has sign up sheets for everything they need for that day. They have the decorations taken care of. She just needs confirmation of the food. Information Booth: Ken Lazar— Paulette stated that she has the food tickets for Ken. BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman - Rhonda has a list of the walk arounds and spaces available for kids to volunteer if any committee member has a Junior. She still will need a signed release. She asked that committee members e-mail her about what your kids are interested in doing. She said that other things are available, such as the parade. She said the more the merrier. They also have 5,000 tote bags that need to be passed out by the Juniors. Kids arts and Crafts Tent: Debbie Rybarczyk/Betty Lou Manso Betty Lou stated that they have no craft supplies, but have the coupons from the committee members. They will be shopping. Ice man/Cell Phones Paulette stated that they are all set. Village Liaison: Bill Brimm— Bill has no report. Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members Karen talked about parking for this year. There are 36 spaces for the entertainers to park behind the main stage. The committee members will park behind Village Hall. There are spots reserved for the bands and the walk arounds behind the Main Stage. The dance troupes will get one pass and they will have to park at Town Center and take the shuttle. Bill asked how many troupes have access to Village Hall to change. He stated that past weekends, the Village Hall is left in a mess due to the dance troupes. He stated that if they use Village Hall, they must respect the building. Karen steed that she needs a committee member to stay with the groups, and asked for a female to volunteer to supervise the groups. They need to change 4 times for 2 groups, once to start and one to end Bill stated that there was not enough supervision of the BG juniors in Public Works. Rick needs 500 clam shells, and napkins, mustard, ketchup for 500 participants. Sharon stated that this is the last chance of the Friends of the Fest donation. JV stated he had a good meeting with the Business Fair and Food Tent vendors. He did not give out parking passes for a couple of people. JV asked the vendors not to abuse the parking passes. JV stated that we will have beautiful weather. A note was made about the complaint from last year about the golf carts parked in front of the information booth. This year, committee members are instructed to park the golf carts behind the porta potties when not in use, so that people will not trip. Jim made a motion to adjourn. Sandi seconded the motion.
