The meeting was called to order at 7:12PM.
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV stated that everything is ordered and ready to go.
We are down to the last 10 days.
Wednesday night is the softball game at Busch Grove Park.
Thursday night is the carnival with wrist band night and bingo.
Steve requested everyone to be on campus at 10:00 PM to switch over the Bingo Tent to the
Food Tent.
Adam stated that the Main Stage has a window from 9:30 to 10:30 Friday morning to get the
Main Stage in. If they miss the window, they will have to deliver it after 12:00 PM per
instructions from St. Mary's.
Adam stated that they will be setting up the Beer Tent during bingo Thursday night. Anyone
wanting to help is invited.
Friday, everything is open at 6:00. The Food Tent will be open and running.
Dave is set with the electricity and signs.
Saturday open is at 11 o'clock for the Arts and Crafts, noon for the carnival.
Dave will have the cars out of Raupp by 10:30 Saturday.
Lock down on Raupp on Friday is at 5:00, where no cars will be allowed.
He will be shutting down the back side of Raupp at the same time.
Monday, the tear down of the big tent will begin around 3:00 unless people are still eating.
Adam wants to know the busiest time for the Craft Fair on Saturday for moving crafters in and
out. Jim stated that the busiest time is after 6:00 PM. The next busiest time is between 9:00 and
10:00 AM. Jim stated that they are not using both vans in the morning.
Paulette stated that they went into the cage yesterday. They found 25 packages of D batteries, so
no one is to purchase any more. They also found a number of flashlights.
They found 10 cases of water from the Art Fair, which have been donated to the BG Days for our
use.
Paulette stated that she has no more men's committee shirts. She did find some ladies shirts and
has some denim shirts with the BG logo on them. See her if you are interested.
Police: Mike Millett-
Mike was not present.
Rick suggested that the Police put the speed limit vehicle on Lake Cook to slow speeders. JV
stated it is already going to be done.
Park District: Terri Ebner—
Teri has no report.
Everything is going great.
Parade: Joe Tenerelli/Ken Lazar -
Joe stated that for the Grand Marshal, he has hired a horse and carriage.
They will have a car for the Village president
Joe stated that he has raised $1,500 in sponsorship for the parade.
Joe said that he has 5 parade marshals signed up so far and will need 5-6 more for crowd control.
He will also need Bernard shut down an hour before the parade.
Joe stated that he has 95 units for the parade.
The parade is ready to go.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -
Roger stated that he has nothing tonight, but will need floor time next week for radio protocol.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/1VIo Welborn -
Rick stated that he is ready to go.
He asked Dave about the new disability sign by mobile com. Dave has it covered.
Fire Department: George Michehl -
George stated that he is ready to go.
He stated that he received the new proposal today from the fireworks people and everything is
good.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson -
Dave stated that they are set with the new cleaning service.
Steve stated that he needs them on campus on Sunday by 11:00, not 2:00 as in previous years.
Dave stated that Public Works has extra pop up tents for use during the festival.
Dave stated that the VIP Tent cannot be set up on the field until Friday afternoon.
DeAnn's stated that her tent will be used for the information booth this year because it is bigger.
Dave reported that the glow necklaces were delivered this week.
Dave said that he is set on the signs. JV stated that if you have issues about signs to talk to Dave.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—
DeAnn stated that at last nights Board meeting, she gave a report regarding the upcoming BG
Days festival.
JV reminded everyone that next week, the meeting will be at the Village Grill.
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Sharon Feld—
Sharon was not present but e-mailed her report to Jane.
Sharon reports that they have raised $40,000 this year.
Food Tent: Steve Schultz/Sandi Carothers -
Steve asked and JV confirmed that the food vendors were happy at the meeting last week.
The parking permits were passed out at the meeting.
Setup/Take down: Steve Antman—
Steve stated that he has no report.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak -
Jim stated that they are good to go. They have 60 booths. He is getting
8 to9 calls per day for booth space but they are full.
Jim reminded everyone that he needs drivers for the vans. He will need a copy of your driver's
license, front and back to drive the van.
Dessert Challenge: Jane Primack/Joan Pawlak -
Jane stated that she has 8 Juniors and 7 adult applications for the contest. She still needs more.
Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Ken Carothers
Chuck stated that he has 12 applications so far. The newspaper has an ad regarding the Grilling
Challenge and the Dessert Challenge. They will run for 5 days. It was also in the newsletter.
Hopefully, he will get more applications from those sources.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Jess -
Debra stated that she is going to check when the carnival will drop off the rides and let Dave
know. Dave stated that the road is blocked on Monday morning.
Penni said that the tickets from previous years are good at our festival. They are just refused at
the Northbrook festival. The tickets will be accepted, even if they say Astro. If anyone has a
problem, they need to come and talk to the ticket booth and they will do a trade.
Debra stated that they will figure out a good time for inspection of the rides.
Penni stated that they want a tent for Monday for the wrist band day.
Pre pre sale tickets are on sale for 30 tickets for $24 for committee members through next
Tuesday.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—
Karen stated that everything is good.
Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—
Doug stated that they are ready to go.
Publicity: Lori Hackett/Dan Olbur
Lori stated that the ads for the Grilling and Desert Challenges will be in the newspaper this week
and next week.

Jim stated that they will be taking pictures all weekend long,
Jim reminded everyone that they will need a group picture next week.
He also wants to take small group pictures or individual pictures, starting next week.
Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett-
Lori stated that the glow necklaces are in and she is ready to go.
VIP Party: Sara Ciolli/Arlene Kozemzak—
Arlene stated that since we have received $40,000 in donations, she anticipates more people for
the party and will request more food from Dorfler's. Pam ordered the decorations on line, which
will include black and pink beads like Grease, records and juke boxes.
Arlene stated that she and Sara will shop at GFS for further needed items.
She will contact Peggy at the Health Department regarding the party.
They still need volunteers to pick up food and decorate. She has enough people to serve. She
said that they will need at least 2 golf carts for the party.
They have approximately 20 donations of food. They will be able to use the beer tent coolers to
keep the food chilled.
They are having problems getting in contact with Leider's. Arlene is not sure if they will have
flowers.
Dave stated that Continental Restaurant parks their truck early and he was told we can use it for a
cooler. Dave said that since it has been offered, so we should use it.
Arlene asked when Dave needs the final list of the food donations for signage. Dave said by the
end of the week. Arlene stated she will have it by Thursday.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar—
Ken stated that he is all ready to go.
Iceman: Ron Jess -
Ron stated that he is all set.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman -
Rhonda stated that she has started getting some of the returning BG Juniors signed up. The
parents are returning the permission slips.
Rhonda stated that she does have openings. Hopefully, she will have a completed list by the next
week. She also stated that she is not turning anyone away.
Kids Art and Craft Tent: Betty Lou Manso/Debbie Rybarczyk
Betty Lou thanked everyone who brought coupons last week. She used all of them to buy craft
supplies.
Betty Lou stated that she will need three tables to be left in the VIP Tent for the Kids Crafts.
Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—
Bill has no report.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
JV stated we are 10 days out.
He wanted to thank everyone for their hard work done so far.
He also thanked Paulette for keeping it on track for the entire year.
Paulette stated she watched the time capsule being buried near the Village Hall entrance. The
Garden Club has already planted the new flowers and shrubs. The time capsule is under the large
boulder by the door of Village Hall. The dedication on Monday of BG Days is the final event of
the 50rh celebration. A plaque will be placed on the boulder.
Paulette also stated that she has a picture from the 1958 BG Days with her tonight.
Pam made a motion to adjourn. Mo seconded the motion.
