The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM.
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
The group committee picture was taken prior to the beginning of the meeting.
Paulette stated that the big tent is coming tomorrow, Wednesday. The VIP tent will come
Friday. Sixteen risers are coming.
Reed from Cash and Dash, called and said that the governor has cut all overtime and they may not
be here. They will let Paulette know by Friday.
Paulette received a call from a resident in a wheelchair who wanted to attend the concert Friday.
Multiple committee members offered to make sure the resident would get on and off the field
safely.
Paulette stated that the aprons and t-shirts have been picked up.
She has boxes of shirts, but only has the blue denim ones left.
She reminded everyone that if they need maintenance during the weekend, to get hold of JV,
Paulette, Sandi, or Steve. They are the only ones in radio contact with the guy in charge of the
maintenance. He will be on separate radio line.
The Daily Herald insert is out and they quoted Paulette pretty well.
Steve needs parking passes. Paulette stated the she has committee parking passes with each
committee member name on them.
JV gave a big thanks to Paulette who has orchestrated BG Days this entire year. He reminded
everyone that if anyone has a good comment about the festival or the committee, to take credit
for it. If they have a complaint, direct them to him. He will take care of it.
Teri thanked Karen for hard work.
He thanked committee members for the sacrifices people will be making during the weekend. He
reminded everyone to enjoy, have fun and have some laughs.
When asked, Rick said that the Fun and Food lunches will be put together starting at 11:00. JV
said that committee members need to be there to watch the participants of the Fun and Food
program come in for lunch after the carnival. That is why we are here.
Sunday is the pancake breakfast. We will also celebrate the 50rh anniversary that day.
Monday is tie dye t-shirt day.
Police: Mike Millett-
Mike stated that he is ready to go. The scheduling is done.
The street intelligence is good.
He hopes that everyone has a marvelous holiday. He also stated that if during the festival, if
anyone needs anything, simply ask. The Police will always be available through Mobile Com the
entire weekend.
Park District: Terri Ebner—
Teri stated she has a brief update from Lindsay about the BG Idol.
The BG Idol committee is looking forward to a terrific show this weekend. The 12 finalists and 3
returning winners will present a fun, 50's themed show. The committee would like to thank
Karen Danenberg for arranging this year's emcee, Randy Bernstein. If anyone has any questions
regarding Buffalo Grove Idol please feel free to contact Lindsay at 847-850-2132.
Parade: Joe Tenerelli/Ken Lazar -
Joe said that he is ready to go.
He has gotten some last minute entries for the parade.
Joe said that the parade marshals should meet at Bernard and Regent at 11:00. The kids should
not be in hat area as it is too dangerous.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -
Roger stated that the radios are in.
Roger also wanted to review radio protocol.
Mobile Com will be on site Thursday night and then Friday night through the weekend. If you
need the police or the fire department/EMS , call Mobile Com and give your name and location,
using landmarks, if possible. Roger asked that you stay with the person in need until requested
services arrive.
If here is a lost parent or child, a mass call will go out from Mobile Com to immediately to look
for the lost person. Committee members are expected to shift responsibilities to find the lost
child/parent. If you find a lost parent or child, go to the nearest police officer to report. Roger
states that recovery time for lost a parent/child is less that 1 minute.
Roger said that they have a new vendor for the radios and will have new head sets.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mo Welborn -
Rick confirmed that during buddy baseball, Murray, Ken and Ron Jess will drive the handicapped
shuttles.
Other than that, Rick is good to go.
He has had 217 RSVP's for Monday.
Fire Department: George Michehl -
George stated that they are doing good and are set up with Melrose for the fireworks. They are
ready to go.
Thursday will be the carnival inspection.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson -
Dave stated that he us ready to go.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—
DaAnn wanted to thank everyone for the hard work they have put in throughout the year, and
thanks for the work the committee will do during the weekend. She agreed that members will be
tired, but we will be the ambassadors for the Village. Keep smiling.
DeAnn also thanked Bill Brimm and for the work of the Village staff. She also thanked Dave and
the Public Works department, Mike and the police department and George and the fire
department. She thanked the EMA unit for all their volunteer work.
She thanked all of the village support staff for the work they did.
Most of all, thanks to our leaders, JV and Paulette.
The weather will be great and we will have a great weekend.
DeAnn also stated that she will be back next year. Her house in Kansas is rented.
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Sharon Feld—
Sharon stated that they have raised over $40,000. Lynn Schneider has worked hard on the
corporate sponsorship.
Sharon also stated that there is one less vendor for Thursday night. One vendor had to back out.
Food Tent: Steve Schultz/Sandi Carothers -
Steve said that he is all set and has nothing to report.
Setup/Take down: Steve Antman—
Steve said that he is ready to go.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak -
Jim said that he needs need a quick meeting with the drivers.
Jim stated that they are ready to go. They have 60 vendors.
Dessert Challenge: Jane Primack/Joan Pawlak -
Jane said that she has judges, the food demonstration and has 12 Juniors and 11 Adult
applications. She will be accepting applications through Friday.
Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Ken Carothers
Chuck stated that he has 19 applications as of tonight and expects more in this week.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Jess -
Penni stated that Ed from the carnival told her that there is one new employee hired since the state
fair.
Penni stated that they still need a pop up tent for wrist band Monday. They will also need a
couple tables and some chairs.
Penni told Dave that that the carnival will need 3,000 gal of water between 9 and 9:30on
Thursday morning.
They will be getting a four person ticket booth this year.
Penni also needs to need to know how many Boy Scouts will be volunteering for the Fun and
Food program this year for the tickets. Rick will get back to her on Monday.
Penni stated that she e-mailed everyone regarding their committed schedule volunteering for the
ticket booth
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—
Karen stated that she has her red folder people. She has passed out red folders with assignments
for the weekend. She would like to meet all red folders before the first assignment at the Main
Stage Friday at 6:00. She reminded Ken Carothers that since there is no Teen Stage he will be a t
the Main Stage.
Karen stated that the acts have checked in and Adam is working on transportation for the bands.
Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—
Doug stated that they are in good shape and ready to go.
Paulette stated that there will be 2 risers by the craft area as they requested.
They are also good for Sunday.
Publicity: Lori Hackett/Dan Olbur
Lori stated that they are there and good to go.

JV said thank you to the photography committee which was already working.
Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett-
Lori stated she is good to go.
VIP Party: Sara Ciolli/Arlene Kozemzak—
Arlene stated that she has the assignment sheets for food pick up with her tonight.
Set up for the party will begin between 3:00 and 3:30.
They have received 227 RSVP's. Usually at this time in previous years, she had received 40.
Arlene is requesting 400 steaks total. JV stated whatever we do not use, Dorfler's can sell at
their booth.
Arlene reminded committee members that they are welcome to come at the end of the evening,
after 7:30 for dinner.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar—
Ken stated that he is all set.
Iceman: Ron Jess
Ron stated that he is good. The ice will be delivered Thursday morning.
The ice is given to the chamber. Everyone else is charged $4 per bag. A running tally for each
vendor will be kept at the Information booth.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman -
Rhoda stated that it is going well. She has 26 Juniors with signed permission slips.
She will have the schedule done by tomorrow afternoon. She will have juniors for the Arts and
Crafts if needed.
Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—
Bill thanked everyone on the committee on behave of the Village staff. He said that we make
their job easy.
Jane voiced a thank you to Jane Olson in the Village staff for all her help.
Kids Arts and Crafts: Betty Lou Manso/Debbie Rybarczyk
Betty Lou stated that since this is their first year, she has no ideas if they will be very busy or
slow. Tell your friends with kids about it. They will start at start at 3:00 and go to 5:30 to 6.
They will welcome children of any age. They will be in the VIP tent on St. Mary's field on
Sunday.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Mo stated that as past chairperson for the committee, she can reflect and is proud how the
committee has grown by leaps and bounds. JV and Paulette have done a great job keeping BG
Days alive and well. They have done better each year as the committee has grown.
Ron made a motion to adjourn. Debbie seconded the motion.
