The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM.
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV stated that we are 6 months away from the festival.
Paulette stated that the light pole banners advertising Buffalo Grove's 50rh celebration are for sale.
Let her know if you are interested in one.
Paulette stated that the tent contract is signed. We are getting a yellow squared off tent for the
Food Tent.
Paulette said that Dunkin' Donuts wants to bring their sample van to the festival, providing free
samples of donuts and coffee. She suggested they come on Monday and they will become a
sponsor for the festival. They have a 30 foot van.
Paulette said that Harris bank is not interested in providing the ATM machines. The company
from last year is interested. They will fix the antenna from last year and will be back. Palette said
that she will check with Chase Bank or another bank. If they can provide what we are looking
for, we would be happy to use them. Debra stated that the Carnival wants an ATM on their side.
Paulette stated that we get 50 cents for every transaction.
Paulette also stated that Chuck is requesting a co-hair for Barbecue Challenge
Indian Trials reading hour would like to present a program at the festival this year. Paulette
thought it could be worked into the kid's tent.
Paulette told the new members, that the committee does not assign them to a particular
subcommittee. They can choose which subcommittee they wish to work on. Publicity needs help
writing the newsletter. Parade marshals are always needed on Sunday, and everyone is expected
to help out at the ticket booth.
Police: Roy Bethge
Roy stated that he is working on scheduling, trying to stay within his budget.
Parade: Joe Tenerelli/Ken Lazar -
Joe was not present. He e-mailed his report to Jane. Joe is in the process of negotiating contracts
with some parade entries. He talked to Bill Brimm about the cost of the parade and Bill is
satisfied with his cost saving efforts.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -
Roger was not present.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mo Welborn -
Rick stated that Buddy Baseball will be on Saturday at 4 PM, with a rain date on Sunday.
Fire Department: George Michehl -
George was not present
Park District: Terri Ebner—
Terri stated that the BGRA building at Emmerich Park is being rebuilt. She will keep track of it.
She is not sure when the building will be completed. Just in case, she does not want the
committee to depend on using the building for the festival in case it is not ready for Labor Day
weekend. Terri stated that there will be fencing in the area where the ticket booth usually goes, so
the Carnival will need to find another location for the ticket booth.
Terri stated that the Park District is planning on the disc golf, the stampede run, and the BG Idol
contest again this year. JV asked if they will be schedule for the same day and time as last year.
Terri confirmed that they would be.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson -
George was not present.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—
DeAnn was not present.
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Sharon Feld—
Sharon stated that they have not gotten going yet. She said that in the beer tent, they will be
serving wine in a juice box format. Sharon stated that they are trying to get the restaurants to
stay on Monday. They will be offering money incentives to the restaurants for doing so.
Food Tent: Steve Schultz/Sandi Carothers -
Steve has no report.
Setup/Take down: Steve Antman—
Steve was not present but e-mailed his no report to Jane.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak -
Jim stated that they have sent out all the applications and have received 12 responses.
Kid Kraft Korner: Betty Lou Manso
Betty Lou was not present.
Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Ken Carothers
Chuck has no report.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Jess -
Penni had no report.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—
Karen has no report.
Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—
Doug stated that they will have sound although it will be scaled back in the bear tent this year.
They intend to save money on equipment this year. They will be piecing it together. There will be
smaller acts during the day in the Beer Tent.
Publicity: Lori Hackett
Lori stated that they will be making appointments soon to go over the publicity. They will be
working, again, with Diane the graphic designer this year.

Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett-
Lori has no report. When asked by JV, Loris reported that they sold 1000 necklaces sold last
year, that they had just enough.
VIP Party: Arlene Kozemzak—
Arlene was not present. JV stated that we may take a different approach this year to the VIP
Party.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar—
JKen was not present.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman -
Rhonda has no report.
Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—
JV stated that Bill is working and could not be present.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Sharon stated that the VIP Party is not working as intended. Many people are showing up who
are not supposed to be there. A certain number of tickets are given to each business/person
invited and they are bringing family, friends and whoever to the party. The VIP party may not be
worth the cost. Paulette asked Sharon to go back to the Chamber to determine if they would like
to have a party with just appetizers, wine and desserts. Sharon will get back to them.
Ron made a motion to adjourn. Jim seconded the motion.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:50.
