The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM.
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV stated that this is our first month of double meetings in one month.
Paulette stated that she talked to the person at the Illinois Treasure's Department. Due to budget
and personnel cuts, the Cash and Dash program for the festival is up in the air.
Paulette stated that the ATM and ice contracts have been signed..
Police: Roy Bethge—
Roy was not present but e-mailed his report to Jane.
He continues to work on staffing with nothing else to report.
Park District: Terri Ebner—
Teri has no report.
Parade: Joe Tenerelli/Ken Lazar/Lee Orlov -
Joe was not present.
Paulette announced that Joe will be the Grand Marshal for the parade this year in honor of his 25
years of service to the committee and to the Village. There will be two assistants for the parade
this year so that Joe can be a part of the parade. He will assist in the transition for them to
continue on the next year. Joe was not present at the meeting. Paulette stated she would call Joe
with the news.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -
Roger stated that he has the contract for the radios. He is using the same vendor as last year, who
came in on at the same price with the same headsets. The contract is for $800. The contract was
approved by the committee.
Roger stated that there will be an emergency operation center for Friday ad Saturday nights at the
festival. It will be located downstairs in Village Hall. He invites all committee members to check
them out to see what they can do in the event something happens on a large scale.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mo Welborn -
Rick stated that he is going ahead with the art show. He hopes that they will be able to sell some
of their artwork.
Rick stated that all the food vendors for the Fun and Food program have confirmed that they will
be back again.
The face painter will be back again this year.
Fire Department: George Michehl -
George was not present.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson -
Dave stated that the contracts for the restrooms and power are signed. He is still waiting for the
signed contracts for the r trailer for the Main Stage, the cleaning company, and the bus service.
He should have confirmed numbers by next week.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—
DeAnn was not present.
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Sharon Feld—
Sharon stated that they are set with the restaurants. They have two more that have to commit to
their offerings.
Sharon stated that the Chamber will be selling 6 ounce wine boxes at the Beer Tent this year.
They continue to raise money in sponsorship for the festival.
They have 9 businesses for the Business Fair.
Karen asked about sponsors for the Radio Disney program. Sharon reported that they have not
found a sponsor yet.
Debra asked about the Chamber asking vendors to offer food for those with allergies or for
vegetarians. Sharon stated she will bring it up with the vendors.
Food Tent: Steve Schultz/Sandi Carothers -
Steve stated that everyone from last year is coming back again this year.
He stated that in regards to the questions about the amount of money that goes to the specific
charity, he has included in his letter to the not-for-profits the need for documentation of what is
given to the specific charity. This documentation will be required for the not-for-profits able to
serve at the festival.
The boy scouts would like to sell water when NA'AMAT does not, on Thursday and Monday.
The BG orchestra wants back in the Food Tent. He may move someone else outside the Food
Tent.
Setup/Take down: Steve Antman—
Steve stated that he has no report at this time.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak -
Jim stated that he currently has 37 crafters confirmed and they are moving right along,.
Kids corner: Jane Primack/Joan Pawlak -
Betty Lou was not present but e-mailed her no report to Jane.
Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Murray Sprung
Chuck stated that we will have one. He stated that we are now registered with the Illinois Grilling
Society so he hopes to get additional applicants with that. He has 2 responses so far.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Jess -
Penni stated that there are requests from residents for the dancing bear show. They will try to get
it.
Penni asked that they can, again, have the pop up tent for Monday's wrist band day. Paulette
stated that she has been storing the pop up tent from last year for JV. She has the pop up tent at
this time.
Penni also asked if the parking lot east of Emerick Park will be available for the carnival to park
their 18 wheelers. .Terri said that there would no problems with that.
Debra asked for comments about the layout for the carnival. No one had any concerns.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—
Karen stated that everything is good.
Karen said that she has had a lot of teens upset that there is no teen stage.
Karen stated that she has a band that wants to play on Friday night. The only location would be
the Rotary Green. Debra was concerned about having the teens off campus that might impact the
carnival sales. There were also concerns about the problems of teens crossing BG Road in
coming and going to the stage site. .
Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—
Doug stated that they have the contract back from Diversified Audio, and they are coming in at
the same price as last year.
In regards to the back line, Adam stated that since we are such a good customer, they are giving
us the back line for much less
Adam stated that we are going to broadcast the music for the fireworks music even further this
year.
Paulette stated that the newsletter goes to the graphic designer first week of July. She will need
to know before then, to what areas they will be broadcasting music. Adam stated that the music
will be synced up
Adam wants to set up a continuous broadcast loop for the parking areas for information about
buses and transportation. JV approved.
Publicity: Lori Hackett/
Paulette and Lori have been reviewing pictures for the newsletter. The theme this year is a BG
Days Block Party
Lori is on target for the newsletter deadline.

Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett-
Lori had no report.
VIP Party: Sara Ciolli/Arlene Kozemzak—
There will be a party this year with cheese wine, crackers, and beer, for adults only, over 21 years
of age, The time for the party will be the same as last year, from 6:00 to 8:00,.
Doug and Adam stated that they will provide music to the VIP party that night. Music will come
from the Beer Tent.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar—
Ken was not present.
Iceman: Ron Jess —
Ron was not present.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman -
Rhonda stated that Annie has agreed to help again this year. They have no volunteers yet.
Rhonda is looking for 24 to 26 volunteers total for the weekend.
Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—
Bill Brimm was not present.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Marc asked about opening the fitness center for people's use during the festival. Teri stated that
the Park District has the Stampede for any need for physical activity.
Jim stated that the DVD from last year's BG Days is available for $2.
JV stated that the Village has a blood drive 4 times a year, with the one during BG Days the
biggest one. They are willing to bring the portable blood mobile over to the festival to park on
Church Street from 1 to-5 on Sunday. to do a continuation of the blood drive. JV needs to check
with the Health Department on this. JV is also looking for some kind of incentive for giving
blood. He knows that Pete at Continental Restaurant would be willing to give $2 off of a meal if
someone gives blood. Another suggestion was to give a certificate to anyone who gave blood for
use of free food or money off a food item in the Food Tent. Sharon stated that this idea needs to
be offered to all of the restaurants. The blood drive will be in the newsletter with incentives about
the coupons for free food.
Jim asked, again, for someone to volunteer to take e over the van for the Arts and Crafts.
JV suggested that the van be van be available on the hour for transport.
Murray made a motion to adjourn. Rodney seconded the motion.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45.
