The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM.
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV stated that if anyone needs a name tag, this is the last night to sign up. If you need a shirt,
either tie dyed or blue, sign up at the front table tonight. JV reminded everyone that there is no
meeting on August 18.
Paulette stated that a youth counseling clinic wants to pass out stress balls at the festival. The
committee decided that they should not be allowed to do so. Paulette will talk to Joe to see if
they can be in the parade, where they can pass them out.
Police: Roy Bethge-
Roy was not present.
Karen will talk to Roy about parking permits.
Park District: Terri Ebner—
Teri was not present. She is at National Night Out.
Parade: Joe Tenerelli/Ken Lazar/Lee Orlov/Murray Sprung -
Joe was not present. He gave his no report to Jane.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -
Roger was not present.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mo Welborn -
Rick stated that they will go ahead with blocking off a section in front of the Alcott Center for
handicapped viewing of the parade. They will have signage for the area between the two
driveways. Other than that, they are ready to go.
Fire Department: George Michehl -
George stated that they need more grills for the Barbecue Challenge. He is working on it.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson -
Dave stated that he wants to know about any committee needs for signage. He needs time to
make them. He stated that everything is ordered and will be delivered.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—
DeAnn has no report.
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Sharon Feld—
Sharon stated that they will be adding one more restaurant and are looking for it now.
They continue to work on Corporate Sponsorship. There are four 1/2 Business Fair booths open,
at a cost of$250.
Food Tent: Steve Schultz/Sandi Carothers -
Steve stated that he has no report. He asked and it was confirmed that the vendor meeting will be
on August 18. The Business Fair meeting is at 6:00 and the food vendors meeting is at 7:00.
Setup/Take down: Steve Antman—
Steve was not present. He is at the National Night Out. Paulette stated that she has ordered 8
fans for the food tent,
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak -
Jim stated that he has 55 craft booths. He hopes to get 60 by the end of the week.
Van Man: Eric Gordon
Eric will begin taking names of people who are willing to drive. If you want to drive the van,
please provide a copy, front and back, of your driver's license to either Jim or Eric.
Kid's Craft Fair:: Betty Lou Manso/Debi Moritz
Betty Lou has no report.
Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Murray Sprung
Chuck stated that he has received 2 applications so far.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Jess -
Penni and Debra were not present but e-mailed their report to Paulette. The carnival posters are
in. Lynn took some to the Chamber luncheon today. Everyone should take some to put up in
places of businesses. Penni and Debra will have the sign up sheet next week for the ticket booth.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—
Karen stated that she has no report.
Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—
Doug stated that they have no report. They are in good shape.
Publicity: Lori Hackett
Lori has no report. Paulette stated that the newsletter went to the printer today.
Karen has placed 3 ads in each of the Daily Herald and the Countryside. There will also be an ad
in the special insert for the festival of the Daily Herald.

Jim requested that everyone wear their tie dye shirts for the September I't meeting. He wishes to
get a group shot of the committee.
Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett-
Lori has no report.
VIP Party: Arlene Kozemzak/Pam Soracco/Judith Katz—
Arlene stated that the Chamber is getting food donations. Judith has been doing well calling
people in follow up to the letter sent out by the Chamber. They will coordinate with the Chamber
about the food. Volunteers will be needed to pick up the food. Eric stated that if we have the van
for the crafters by Friday night, he would be happy to drive and pick up the food.
Iceman: Ron Jess
Ron was not present but e-mailed his no report.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar—
Ken was not present.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman -
Rhonda was not present. Paulette stated that the applications for the BG Juniors are at the front
table. The Junior must be in junior high to volunteer.
Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—
Bill has no report.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Lee stated that he has had a number of requests for a portable pottie for the parade participants.
He is suggesting that it be place near Bernard and Regent. Paulette will
Look into it.
DeAnn wanted to introduce our new member who has worked for the committee for many years
and now is official, Janee Stempel.
Jane stated that the most updated roster is available up front.
JV reminded everyone that if you wish to be a Friend of the Fest, $25 will get your name on the
board. Please give the money to Sharon Feld. The Chamber will give the names to Dave who
will make up the sign.
Doug suggested that we get a radio assigned to the flat bed cart. It would make it easier to
contact the person driving it when and where it is needed.
Pam said that they will need 2 to 3 golf carts for Friday night.
Rodney made a motion to adjourn. Nancy seconded the motion.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30.
