The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM.
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV stated that we have two more meetings before the festival.
The festival officially starts on Thursday, September 3 d. The unofficial start of the festival is on
September 2nd, with the soft ball game that starts at 6:30 to 7. Thursday night is Bingo night.
Then we rearrange the Food Tent afterwards. There is a sign up sheet for the ticket booth up
front. Also, the sign up sheets for the BG Juniors is in front. The van sign up sheet will be
available at the next meeting. If you intend to drive the van, please bring a copy of the front and
back of your license.
A Girl Scout leader has contacted Paulette about selling glow items at the Rotary Green and
Willow Stream parks. It was decided to let them sell at Willow Stream only, and they cannot sell
necklaces.
Paulette stated that if anyone else needs a shirt, she has ordered extras. Paulette also said that the
Carnival ticket times and prices will be put on the police blotter this week. If anyone wants signs,
get the information to Dave or Paulette ASAP. If you gave your requests to Paulette already, it
has been taken care of.
Police: Roy Bethge -
Roy stated that everything is on schedule. He will talk to Karen about the parking permits. He
will have them in two weeks at the next meeting, except for those needed for the vendor meeting
next week.
Park District: Terri Ebner—
Teri was not present and she mailed her no report to Jane.
Parade: Joe Tenerelli/Ken Lazar/Lee Orlov/Murray Sprung -
Murray stated that everything is getting in line, and they are still getting entries.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake -
Roger was not present.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mo Welborn -
Rick stated that they are set to go. They have a new company, that of Hal and Rhonda's, for
sponsor for Buddy Baseball.
Fire Department: George Michehl -
George received confirmation that the vendors meeting, will be at 7, with the Business Fair
meeting at 6. The fireworks company has added another rack of fireworks, because of problems
on the 4'h.
He has confirmed with Weber that they will get three 36 inch ranch style grills for the Barbeque
Challenge.
The paramedics are all settled.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson -
Dave stated that everything is fine. He said that if you need or think you need signs, let Paulette
know or get hold of Dave, Paulette will get hold of the Chamber to see about their signs.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover—
DeAnn has no report
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Sharon Feld—
Sharon was not present. Paulette stated that they have a new restaurant, Froots of Wheeling.
They will be serving fruit smoothies, Caesar salad, fresh fruit, and banana fritters.
The Chamber continues to raise funds for the festival. If you wish to be a Friend of the Fest, give
your $25 check donation to Jane Olson at Village Hall.
The Business Fair has one 1/z booth and 2 full booths available.
Food Tent: Steve Schultz/Sandi Carothers -
Steve was not present.
Setup/Take down: Steve Antman—
Steve stated that we have eight fans this year for the Food Tent. He is considering putting 1 to 2
in the Beer Tent.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak -
Jim stated that they have 60 crafters confirmed as of now, with possibly 62, by end of the week.
He is now working on the layout for the crafter's booth.
Van Man: Eric Gordon
Eric was not present but e-mailed his report to Jane. He has nothing to report other than he has
received copies of driver's license's from several people and he expresses thanks for those.
Kids Craft Tent:Betty Lou Manso/Debi Moritz
Betty Lou stated that she received 250 little clay pots for painting, from Leider's nursery.
Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Murray Sprung
Chuck stated that as George said, Weber will lend them the grills. Everything else is set. He just
needs contestants. The contest will be on Saturday, with judging at 4:00 PM.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Jess -
Debra stated that she has the sign up sheets for the ticket booth. Debra stated that since she has
not heard any problems with the layout from the police, public works, fire department or the park
district, she will go ahead with the layout as planned. George stated that he had not yet seen the
plan. Debra stated she would get him the plan.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg—
Karen has no report.
Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe—
Doug stated that they are in good shape. They will need additional parking passes for those
entertainers who forget to bring them. Adam stated that they got the music for the fireworks this
week.
Publicity: Lori Hackett
Paulette stated that the tri folds are here. They ordered 1200 of them. It has the entertainment
schedule inside and the bus routes in it. Paulette also stated that the newsletter will be at the post
office by this Friday.

Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett-
Lori stated that they have the necklaces, $2 each or 3 for $5.
VIP Party: Arlene Kozemzak/Pam Soracco —
Pam said food donations are coming around. Judith has been calling those who received letters
as follow up. The invitations are going out to the sponsors.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar—
Ken said that this was self explanatory.
Iceman: Ron Jess -
Ron stated that the ice will be selling for $4 per bag. Discussion occurred regarding the price we
the committee pays for the ice along with the freezer to keep them and the initial delivery cost.
JV stated we will consider raising the price of the ice charged to the vendors.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman -
Rhonda stated that since Karen has cut back on the hours for the walk arounds, that she will have
more Juniors who can help. Please let her know if any of the Juniors can help in any area at the
festival.
Discussion occurred about the use of the board room for the dancers to change. Paulette sated
that we may need an adult female to monitor the changing area of the dancers in Village Hall.
Village Liaison: Bill Brimm—
Bill has no report.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Jane stated that there will be no meeting next week. Debra commented that the Carnival posters
look better this year.
Ron made a motion to adjourn. Mo seconded the motion.
