Chairman's Report: JV Sprin2man/Paulette Greenberg JV thanks everyone for their hard work. He said that we will all be rewarded for our work with smiles, especially on Monday. JV reminded everyone of the blood drive at the Alcott Center, Saturday morning from 8 to 1. Also, on Saturday from 1 to 6, the blood mobile will be on Church Street. Police: Roy Bethge - Roy had no report. The Police are good to go. Park District: Terri Ebner— Teri stated that they are good to go. They have the BG Idol and the dog program ready to go. Parade: Joe Tenerelli/Ken Lazar/Lee Orlov/Murray Sprung - Joe stated that Comcast had a problem. They needed a 220 amp power source. Joe was trying to find or rent a generator. It turns out that they did not need it after all. Ken Lazar had knee surgery and is till having problems. Most likely, he will not be here this year. Karen gave Joe the crown, the plaque and the decorated cookie for being Grand Marshal this year. Mobile Com: Roger Remblake - Roger gave a short explanation of what Mobile Com does. H also gave instruction on the use of the radio. There will be bicycle paramedics again this year. Roger instructed committee members to take any lost children to the closest police officer. A discussion occurred about creating isles with white chalk for access up the center and on both sides on the main field. No blankets will be allowed in the specified isles. Blankets will be removed from the walkways if they are placed there. The will be handicapped seating near the front. If the designated area is not used, it will be moved back a little farther next year. Roy stated that the police have committed to patrolling the area to keep the isles accessible. Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mo Welborn - Rick stated that they are good to go. Fire Department: George Michehl - George stated that they are good to go. Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson - Dave stated that the carnival will be starting to set up Monday. Dave wanted to give thanks to everyone for their volunteer work. He said that Public Works gets compliments for a lot of what the committee does. Dave said that if anyone needs signs, he needs the information for them by 8AM tomorrow, Wednesday. Dave reminded everyone not to park behind Public Works building. Committee members were instructed to place their name on their parking pass. The parking lot west of the police department is for handicapped and police shift parking. Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover— DeAnn thanked everyone on the committee on behalf of the Village Board. She thanked us for putting on a big party for all the residents. They really appreciate it. JV thanked De Ann all her years as Trustee Liaison. Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship: Scott Fishkin/Sharon Feld— Sharon stated that there are 22 businesses filled in the Business Fair, with 3 there on Thursday, 18 during the weekend and 6 on Monday. The Chamber has raised $24,040 total. Sharon also said that the Chamber will be collecting food for a local pantry during the parade from their float.. Food Tent: Steve Schultz/Sandi Carothers - Steve has no report. He is ready to go. Steve reported that that cleaning people start on Sunday at 12 noon. Setup/Take down: Steve Antman— Steve stated that Dave will be on hand for deliveries on Wednesday. Steve is ready for Thursday night, about 10:30. He will need lots of volunteers to switch the Bingo Tent to the Food Tent Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak - Jim stated that he is good to go. Van Man: Eric Gordon Eric stated he was good to go. Kids Craft Tent:Betty Lou Manso/Debi Moritz Betty Lou stated that she could use the walk arounds at the kid's tent. She said that if you have spare time, please come over to the kids craft tent and help. She said that she will also need help getting the flower pots over to the tent. Other than that, she is good to go. Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Murray Sprung Chuck stated that he will have it up to 15 grillers. He expects a few more to enter yet. He is accepting applications until Friday. Chuck stated that they have a grill they can borrow but he needs a van to pick it up. Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Jess - Penni stated the if anyone is trying to get hold of them, please be patient. They may not hear you. It is very noisy in the ticket booth. Debi asked that everyone knock on the front window, not the back door before coming around to enter. They want to see who they will be letting in. Committee members will receive one sheet of tickets on Saturday and one on Sunday. They are good with coverage for shifts at the ticket booth. . Debra stated that the configuration of the ticket booth has changed. She said that the ticket booth will move to possibly the driveway in front of mobile com Entertainment: Karen Danenberg— Karen stated that the entertainment is on its way. She is good to go. Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe— Doug stated that they are ready to go. Publicity: Lori Hackett Lori stated that the ads have been in the paper the last few weeks. Other than that, she has no report. Photography: Hal Norman/Jim Pawlak - Hal and Jim stated that they are either hard at work or hardly working. They have no report. Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett- Lori stated that they are ready to go VIP Party: Arlene Kozemzak/Pam Soracco — Arlene stated that they are ready to go. She needs volunteers to set up the party. She will also need assistance in serving and taking names at the beginning of the party. Arlene stated that the committee will not be fed this year from the party. The leftover food will be left at the information booth. Information Booth: Ken Lazar— Since Ken is our because of surgery, Mo stated that she will take care of the information booth this year. Iceman: Ron Jess - Ron stated that everything is coming Thursday, early. Other than that, he is good to go. BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman - Rhonda stated that she has 12 BG Juniors. Village Liaison: Bill Brimm— Bill wanted to thank the committee for all time and effort in making festival work for the community. Thanks for all time we put into it. JV thanked Bill for all of support and work. Bill stated that he will be around all weekend. Scott also will be around. Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members Jim reminded everyone that the group picture is immediately after the meeting. Don't go away. Ron made a motion to adjourn. Mo seconded the motion.
