Bob Boxer, Ken Carothers, Sandi Carothers, Barbara Czipo, Karen Danenberg, Teri Ebner, Sharon Feld, DeAnn Glover, Eric Gordon, Ron Greco, Paulette Greenberg, Lori Hackett, Ron Hackett, Debra Jess, Penni Jess, Ron Jess, Rick Kahen, Judy Katz, Marlene Kozak, Ken Lazar, Hal Norman, Rhonda Norman, Rodney Odelson, Lee Orlov, Randi Orlov, Jim Pawlak, Joan Pawlak, Charles Posniak, Doug Primack, Jane Primack, Roger Remblake, JV Springman, Arla Sprung, Murray Sprung, Janee Stempel, Joe Tenerelli, Connie Weber, Nancy Winter, The meeting was called to order at 7:08 Chairman's Report: JV Sprin2man/Paulette Greenberg Paulette stated that she heard committee people showed up last week for a meeting. She reminded everyone that the meetings are twice a month this month, and next month will start weekly. She said that one of the August meetings will be cancelled but they are unsure which one. Paulette stated that the sign up for the name tags is up front. She asked that everyone sign their name as how they want it printed on the name tag. Paulette stated that the t-shirts are collar less shirts this year. Paulette announced that Sharon Feld raised over $61,000 for breast cancer. Police: Roy Bethge— Roy stated that the Police Department has had a very active week. They have had meetings about the location of the teen stage, which will be on the west side of the campus. He stated that staffing issues have arisen from some long term injuries of fellow officers. Parade: Ken Lazar/Lee Orlov/Murray Sprung. Rodney Odelson - Rodney stated that he has received lots of help from Joe. He said that Comcast will be there for video production for the parade. Mike Therson has been helpful with that. Rodney stated that they have received 38 applications for the parade. There will be no navy band this year, as they are already engaged. Rodney stated that they will consider us for future years. He said that the Wheeling HS band will not participate in any parades this year. He has a new entry, a friend of Jeff Berman. It is miniature train and safety group. They also have a local clown group. He said that a bagpipe group wanted to know if we wanted them for $1500. Rodney said not in this economy. Rodney stated tat the Jessie White tumblers will be back but they hope to address issues of movement of the parade with them. Rodney is working on getting the Stanley cup trophy for the parade. JV stated that the new village manager was introduced at last night's Village Board meeting. He will have a place in the parade and will have a golf cart as they want him visible as he just started. Mobile Com: Roger Remblake - Roger stated that he has good news. The number of the radios is up this year from 20 to 25. On top of that, the company will charge less, saving them $100 and increasing the resources. Everything will be all set. Roger stated that Mobil Com in the same spot as last year. Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mo Welborn - Rick stated that everything is moving along and they are good to go. Susan Moore and associates one of the main sponsors new this year. . Fire Department: George Michehl— George was not present. Park District: Teri Ebner— Teri stated that the Park District and the teen stage have been worked out. She said that Dan and Bill helped make it work. Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson— Dave was not present. Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover— DeAnn has no report. Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship: Sharon Feld/Scott Fishkin— Sharon stated that they have 17 out of 18 restaurants confirmed. She stated that 10 1/z booths in the Business Fair are filled. They still need more. Booths can give out information but they can't sell anything. Sharon stated that they continue with corporate sponsorship.. Food Tent: Sandi Carothers/Steve and Mari Antman - Sandi has no report. Steve was not able to be present but e-mailed his report to Jane. The Friends of the Orchestra will be serving cotton candy and Na'Amat USA will serve water, good humor ice cream and candy. Steve reported that the Boy Scout Troop 140 have paid for 2 booths and will be selling cola, diet cola, lemon lime and cherry cola. All of the not-for-profits have submitted their final forms indicating their intentions/items for sale. Paulette stated that in regards to the concerns about the soda, Boy Scout troop 140 will sell all 5 days. The new troop will sell water and other things on Thursday and Monday. Setup/Take down: Steve Antman— Steve was not present but e-mailed to Jane his no report. Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak - Jim has no report. Van Man: Eric Gordon Eric stated that if you want to drive the van, please make a copy of your driver's license front and back. Jane stated that the copy machine is warmed up and she can make copies right after then meeting. Kids Craft Tent:Betty Lou Manso/Debi Moritz Betty Lou is not present but Jane stated that they continue to collect egg cartons. Grilling Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Murray Sprung Chuck stated that there is not much new. He has no second sponsor, with Dorfler's as his primary. He needs a sponsor for the gift certificates that are prizes. Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Jess - Debra stated that there will be a new layout for the carnival. The design will be revised per building and zoning issues. Entertainment: Karen Danenberg— Karen stated that Kiss FM is coming on Thursday. All the bands have been booked for the BG Palooza stage. The ads are in the Pioneer Press and the Daily Herald. She will coordinate with the police to get the stage through the gate to the teen stage area. They will most likely come off of Lake Cook Road going west bound, which is easier access. Audio/Visual: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe— . Doug said that they are in good shape. They will need power at the teen stage, but can handle it that now that they know where the stage will be. Paulette stated that there have been requests for the Main Stage music to be brought into the Beer Tent while the acts are playing there. Doug stated that is always is brought into the Beer Tent. Publicity: Lori Hackett Lori stated that the publicity is coming long nicely. Paulette stated that the newsletter is at the graphic designer now. Photography: Hal Norman/Jim Pawlak - Jim stated that they have no report. They are working.. Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett- Lori stated that she has no report. VIP Party: Judy Katz Judy stated that they are looking to change the theme to a cocktail hour or a Hawaiian party, something new and fresh. They are still working on the Linfred winery. Information Booth: Ken Lazar— Ken has no report. Iceman: Ron Jess — Ron stated he is good to go. BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman— Rhonda has no report. Healthy Kids: Lori Hackett/Mari Antman Lori stated that it is coming along. Yesterday, the pediatrician dropped out. She is looking for another pediatrician. Village Liaison: Bill Brimm— No one is present. Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members No committee comments. Ron Jess made a motion to adjourn. Ken Carothers seconded the motion.
