The meeting was called to order at 7:00.
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
Paulette stated that at the last meeting, Walgreen's indicated they wanted to participate in the
festival. Paulette talked to the responsible party. He is in charge of.7 stores and had a low
budget. He most probably will participate only in the parade. .
He wanted to put up a tent and do public services and not pay the business fair prices.
Rhonda will be running the BG Juniors and will keep the number or kids to 12-15 kids.
Paulette stated that the deposit for the tents has been made. The food tent will be yellow and
while. The Business Fair tents will be white alternating with yellow and white stripes.
Paulette will get Steve the orders. She has ordered the same number of tables and chairs as last
year
Ron will make out a schedule for all events where set up and take down will be needed. This will
be for every event over the weekend, not just Thursday night when we convert the Bingo Tent
into the Food Tent. He will be meeting with different chair people, to find out their needs for set
up/take down. Sign up can be the same people or different people for each event.
Ken will make up a schedule for the information booth, with shifts of about 2 hours long each.
These two schedules will give more opportunity to committee members to work in addition to the
ticket booth in the carnival and other various events over the weekend. Everyone is expected to
complete 1 to 2 shifts at the ticket booth.
Each committee member is expected to put in a minimum of 12 hours for the entire weekend.
Police: Scott Eisenmenger
Scott has no report.
Parade: Ken Lazar/Lee Orlov/Murray Sprung. Rodney Odelson
Rodney stated that so far, they have Walgreens and Chuckie Cheese signed up for the parade.
Rodney stated that Mike Terson will not be commentator this year due to being elected to the
Village Board.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake
Roger was not present.
Roger asked for committee approval for the rental radios for this year's event. The cost is
$800.00. The amount was approved by the committee.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mara Sabath .
Rick was not present but e-mailed his report to Jane.
The CRD Buddy baseball game will be Saturday September 3d at 4:00 with a rain date of Sunday
at 4:30 if needed.
Ronald McDonald has already confirmed for Monday.
CRD will again have a float in the parade.
Rick's group will be bringing a shuttle cart this year on Wednesday for the softball game to
shuttle people across the street if needed.
Fire Department: George Michehl
George was not present.
Park District: Teri Ebner
Teri has no report.
Steve requested that the stampede for the care circuit this year. Since we had buses around, it
was suggested we utilize the buses for the park district runners to get them from the end of the
run to the pancake breakfast. This would be a route from the fitness center to the festival
campus. The race starts at 8:00. The buses would run from 8:45 for a couple hours after that.
The van was suggested to be used to help out also, but Jim said it is needed to transport crafters.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson
Dave was not present.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover
DeAnn stated that this is her last official meeting as BG Board Liaison.
She is not sure who the new liaison will be.
JV thanked DeAnn for everything she has done for the committee throughout the years.
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship Scott Fishkin
Scott was not present.
Food Tent: Sandi Carothers/Steve and Mari Antman -
Steve has no report.
Event Setup/Take down: Ron Greco
Ron has no report.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak -
Jim has no report.
Van Man: Eric Gordon
Eric has no report.
Kids Craft Tent: :Betty Lou Manso/Debi Moritz
Betty Lou stated that Healthy Kids and Kids Craft are joining forces. They have already had a
meeting.
Betty Lou stated that the Indian Trails Library wants to come again for 1 hour Saturday
They are working with Karen about entertainment.
They will not be running the Kids Craft Tent on Mandy this year. It will run Saturday and Sunday
only.
BBQ Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Murray Sprung
Chuck stated that he is working on it.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Raphaelson
Penni stated that there will be a carnival. They hope to have the layout for the carnival next
month.
When questioned, Penni stated that committee members cannot request rides.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg/Marlene Kozak
Karen was not present..
Paulette said that on Sunday night, Karen has booked the band Lost in Paradise, which is a
Jimmy Buffet tribute band.
Karen is still working on Saturday night.
Friday night, Karen has booked the BG band and later, Mike and Joe,
Plugs and Wires: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe
Doug stated that they will have sound.
They have a signed contract for the stages. The Main Stage will be 40x24 foot.
There will be no other stages to be rented.

Lori has no report.

Iceman: Ron Jess
Ron was not present.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman
Rhonda will do the BG juniors but keep it to 12-15 kids. In the past, we had too many kids for
too little needed work.
Healthy Kids: Lori Hackett/Mari Antman
Lori stated that they are planning on running the Healthy Kids on Saturday only. They want to
see about getting Trader's Joe's in to discuss healthy snacks.
Lori also would like to get a dietician in to talk, also.
They are thinking about talking to Schwaben Center to come talk about soccer.
Lori is looking for 15 minute tops for the talks. Lori and Mari want a little bit of education to be
included in the event. Mari wanted a sport activity forages 4 to10.
Village Liaison:
The Village Liaison is unknown at this time.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Paulette wants to try to get an ATM machine this year. She asked if Debbie would look into it.
JV will call Steve Schultz to see if he can help out. Paulette stated that we will need 2 ATM's,
one on each side.
Paulette also wants to make a preferred quick list for those people who can respond quickly in
helping out at the festival. Jane is to send out request for people to volunteer for the quick list.
Ron made a motion to adjourn.. Rodney seconded the motion.
