The meeting was called to order at 7:08
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV stated that we are 2 months away.
Next month, we will have two meetings. In August, we are scheduled for 5 meetings but we will
probably cancel one or two.
Paulette state that all volunteers and committee members must sign in for attendance.
She also stated that to be a commissioner, you must resign your forms.
No shows for signing will automatically be volunteers.
Police: Scott Einsenmenger
Scott stated.that the first of July, he will start scheduling for the police department.
Scott said that he needs the names for permits for parking.
Everything is ok, he is starting to work on it..
Parade: Ken Lazar/Lee Orlov/Murray Sprung. Rodney Odelson
Rodney said that they have 18 applicants signed up.
The Shriner's are working on something very special that he will not discuss.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake
Roger has no report.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mara Sabath
Rick stated there is nothing new.
He asked for volunteers from the committee to help putting goodie bags together. He is looking
for give aways for the bags. He needs about 200 to 250 bags. He will take whatever he can get.
Fire Department: George Michehl
George was not present.
Park District: Teri Ebner
Teri has no report.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson
Dave stated that he is working on a new layout for our tents.
He is also looking at the porta potties for the entertainment by the cemetery. He is thinking to put
some over by the snow fence on the opposite side. He wants to spread them out for everyone.
He may need another light over the extra group.
He will have the porta potties on that side for the VIP party, the BBQ challenge and the kids tent.
He also wants to put the porta potties back under the trees, when you walk onto St. Mary's field
on the Public Works side.
Trustee Liaison: Beverly Susman/Steve Trilling
Bev and Steve have no report.
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship Scott Fishkin
Alan stated that they continue to work on raising funds for corporate sponsorship.
For the business fair, they have 8 1/z tents filled.
They have 18 restaurants with a waiting list.
Alan asked about the BG Junjors to open and close the business tents. Paulette asked him to talk
to Rhonda.
Food Tent: Sandi Carothers/Steve and Mari Antman -
Steve has heard back from 6 of the 9 not-for-profits. He is on schedule.
He has not heard back form the Rotary, the Knights of Columbus or the Girls Scouts.
Event Setup/Take down: Ron Greco
Ron has the list of events and will contact people regarding their needs for help.
Paulette stated that there will be three sign up sheets for volunteer hours at the festival. Ron will
have a list of needed volunteers, the carnival will have a list as will the information booth.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak -
Jim stated that they have 20 crafters so far. 10 more are committed but he is waiting to finalize
the paperwork In the last month, he will get the other 30 crafters. He is aiming for 60 at least.
Van Man: Eric Gordon
Eric stated that the van will run Friday morning through Monday.
He is looking for volunteers to drive in 2 hours slots. He will need more help Saturday, especially
during the BQ challenge. Erwin will help on Saturday. .
Eric stated that he asked for donations for water from Walgreens and Sam's club, which they
committed. The water just needs to be picked up.
Someone can take the van over to pick up all the water. He is looking for a volunteer for this
also. Ron Jess stated that he will be water boy
JV asked for a list of who Eric has as donating water.
Kids Craft Tent:Betty Lou Manso/Debi Moritz
Betty Lou was not present.
BBQ Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Murray Sprung
Chuck stated that we will have one, but has nothing to report.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Raphaelson
Debra stated that she has no report.
She said that the carnival layout has been approved by the Park District.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg/Marlene Kozak
Karen stated that the act on Saturday before the main act is booked. It is Trippin Billies and will
be starting at 7:30.
Karen stated that the Main Stage is booked.
The Beer tent booked.
Karen stated that on Saturday afternoon, she will have a wind tunnel where the porta potties have
now been moved.
Plugs and Wires: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe
Doug stated that 14 risers will be needed this year for Plugs and Wire.
They will rent a back line for the drums.
Publicity: Alan Danenberg
Alan has nothing new.
He is waiting to hear back from the Daily Herald. They are not sure if they will have their special
section this year.
JV asked if the Daily Herald would do something on line for us. Alan will check.

Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett
Lori has no report.
VIP Party: Judith Katz/Pam Soracco
Pam stated that Lynne will send out the letters soon for donations of food.
Water is usually donated. Pam stated that the VIP party gets so much, and use so little, they will
have some to share with other sub committees. They will let Ron pick up all the water and the
VIP party will take from that.
Paulette stated that they will have the same tent as last year.
The theme for this year is an American theme.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar/Mo Welborn
Ken stated that he has the sign up sheet for volunteers. They will be working in
2 hour shifts Friday night through Monday.
Iceman: Ron Jess
Ron stated that he has the contract and it is the same as last year.
Our cost is $3.50 a bag. We will sell for $4 per bag.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman
Rhonda has no report.
Healthy Kids: Lori Hackett/Mari Antman
Lori stated that they still need to discuss plans with the higher ups on the details for the best date
and time slot for the event.
Paulette stated Sunday would be good as it is turning into Family Day at the festival.
Village Liaison:
Scott has no report.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Paulette stated that JV and she have sent their recommendations to the Village Board regarding
the Parade Marshals for this year. They have nominated DeAnn and Elliot as co marshal's. Jeff
has talked to Elliot but not DeAnn yet.
Next meeting is July 14th. JV wished everyone a happy Fourth of July.
Ron made a motion to adjourn. Rodney seconded the motion.
