The meeting was called to order at 7:05
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV asked if anyone does not have a badge to order it tonight. Janee is putting the orders in this
week.
Paulette asked if you do not have a shirt she will bring the shirts at the next meeting. You can
choose from the sizes she has.
Paulette discussed the change in location for the information booth which will move to the other
side of the sidewalk in front of Public Works. The extra porta potties will be moved onto the
field. The not-for-profit booth will be in the previous location of the information booth. The
booth will be 30 feet long. The Environment Action Team will be there along with other
not-for-profit groups in 3 hour shifts. We will supply the tables and chairs.
Paulette announced that there will be NO MEETING NEXT WEEK.
We will meet on August 9rh, August 23 and August 30. The vendor meeting will be at Village
Hall on August 16.
Police: Scott Eisemmnenger
Scott has no report.
Parade: Ken Lazar/Lee Orlov/Murray Sprung. Rodney Odelson
Rodney stated that currently they have 59 participants and 5 pending committed for the parade.
Rodney stated that he needs parade marshals. .
At the front of the parade will be the Great Lakes Navy Band.
Rodney is expecting more applicants to come in.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake
Roger has no report.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mara Sabath
Mara stated that Outback has donated 600 chicken fingers. The food donation for the chicken
fingers will not be split between two vendors this year.
City Subs will supply sandwiches instead of hot dogs this year.
Sherry Schneider donated chips for the box lunches.
Mara stated that she needs clam shells, for the lunches. She is hoping to get biodegradable ones
this year.
Rick stated that they need things for the goodie bags, Mara will make the calls if someone will
give her a contact. Any family stuff will do, coffee, sewing things, etc
Fire Department: George Michehl
George was not present.
Park District: Teri Ebner
Teri stated that the fall Park District schedule was mailed out to the residents. BG days is on the
back cover and on a page in the middle.
There is an error in the schedule that the Park District program is to be on Saturday. This has
been corrected on the website to reflect the correct day of Sunday.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson
Dave was not present.
JV reminded everyone that if you need signs, you request need to be put through Paulette.
JV stated that they will be arranging the porta potties to make them available for more people.
Paulette announced that the cleaning people will be there on Sunday at 9 AM.
Trustee Liaison: DeAnn Glover
Steve and Bev have no report.
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship Scott Fishkin
Alan stated that 18 restaurants will participate.
They continue to raise money in corporate sponsorship.
12 Business Tents have been rented.
Paulette reminded Alan that she needs a confirmation for the number of tents ordered August 15.
Food Tent: Sandi Carothers/Steve and Mari Antman -
Steve was unable to attend the meeting and has nothing to report per his email to Jane.
Event Setup/Take down: Ron Greco
Ron stated that everything is ok.
Ron will need information regarding risers and equipment needs for each event.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak -
Jim stated that they have 40 crafters. He is hoping for 60.
JV and Jim discussed the blood drive vehicle and it's blockage of the end of Raupp at the craft
area. The van will be parked to give half of the road access, the opening being the side closer to
the church.
Van Man: Eric Gordon
Eric was unable to attend but emailed Jane that he needs volunteers to drive. He will bring the
sign up sheet next week.
Kids Craft Tent:Betty Lou Manso/Debi Moritz
Betty Lou was not present.
BBQ Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Murray Sprung
Chuck stated that the applications are out and he has 4 returned already, including Eric's
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Raphaelson
Penni stated that we have the carnival signs. Anyone can take them.
Penni said that they have the sign up sheets for selling at the ticket booth. Time slots are going
fast.
When asked the wrist bands will cost $22.
Wrist band days will be Thursday night, Saturday afternoon and all day Monday.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg/Marlene Kozak
Karen stated that she will have a 2 person pocket circus in the craft area this year. Hopefully, this
will be a bit quieter,. The last two dance groups will be a Chinese ribbon dance group and then an
Indian dance group in native costume.
Karen stated that she has come through under budget.
She is all booked
Plugs and Wires: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe
Doug reported that they are ready to go.
Publicity: Alan Danenberg
Alan stated that the website is on line, live. If it needs to be adjusted, let Alan know. He hopes to
put the entire video on the website.
Advertising: They are advertising on The Patch this year with a blog managed by Joanne along
with Crystal.
Alan stated that the Pioneer Press graciously offered to continue the same program as last year.
Alan will meet with Nancy from the Daily Herald on Thursday.
Alan stated that there is a mobile version of the website now available.
Alan stated there will be a brochure, instead of the newsletter this year due to budget concerns.
It is a 4 page brochure inserted into the late August newsletter sent to the residents. There will be
no cost for us. The 4 page piece will also become a hand out piece for the festival.
Paulette stated that 1500 were printed last year. They are handed out at the vendor's meeting
also.
Alan commented that the Blood Drive is never on the schedule. The Blood Drive will run on
Saturday from 8 to 1 at the Alcott Center and on campus from 1-6 in the mobile van.

VIP Party: Judith Katz/Pam Soracco
Judith has the list and she will begin calling donors. Other than that, she has no report.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar/Mo Welborn
Paulette stated that the sign up sheet is available for hours volunteered at the information booth.
Iceman: Ron Jess
Ron stated that he is trying to get the $40 charge off the contract.
Ron stated that he has been trying to solicit water form Sam's Club, Jewel, Dominick's, Staples,
and Target. He is looking for other ideas. Paulette suggested Menards.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman
Rhonda had no report. They will be there.
Healthy Kids: Lori Hackett/Mari Antman
This event has been cancelled for this year.
Village Liaison:
Scott has no report
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Paulette announced that there will be an ATM machine on our side this year. It will be by the
information booth and it will work.
There will also be one on the carnival side, over by Mobile Com. Penni stated that the carnival
was fine with that. This will supply more money for people to spend at the carnival.
Ron made a motion to adjourn. Rodney seconded the motion.
