Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg JV stated that we have 10 days to go. Paulette stated that she has the shirts tonight. The sizes are limited for the tie dyed shirts. Next week will be the group picture in the tie dyed shirts at the beginning of the meeting. Paulette stated that she and Mo will be shopping for paper products this weekend. She has the VIP list. She needs a list from the Fun and Food program and anyone else that needs paper products. JV stated that Ron Greco needs help wit set up and take down. Please sign up for a time slot. Erwin asked that everyone sign in when on campus in the book at the Information Booth. Police: Scott Eisenmenger Eric stated that he gave the parking passes to JV. He continues with the final planning. Other than that, he is ready to go. Parade: Ken Lazar/Lee Orlov/Murray Sprung. Rodney Odelson Rodney stated that they have 99 participants. He is still waiting on 1 of which is a surprise. So far, he has 5 parade marshals. He needs as many as possible. This year, he is doing something different. He will have the participants coming into the parade off different staging areas. Bill Brimm will be one of the announcers for the broadcast. Rodney noted that no dogs will be allowed in the parade. There will be 5 children who responded to the "I love Buffalo Grove" contest. They all will be in the parade. Mobile Com: Roger Remblake Roger was not present. He will have a report and discuss radio protocol next meeting. Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mara Sabath Rick stated that they are good to go. He stated that if you want to help with the Buddy Baseball game, it will be Saturday 3:30 to 5:30. See him if you are interested. Fire Department: George Michehl George stated that they will be there, The fireworks are done. The contract is signed. Park District: Teri Ebner Teri has no report. Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson Dave was not present. Dave left a message that everything is fine. JV stated that if anyone needs signs, they need to be requested through Paulette. Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship Scott Fishkin Scott Fishkin and Alan Schencker were not present. Alan emailed his report to Jane. The Business fair has 16 tents. Corporate Sponsorship is at $15,500 in sponsorships and $125 in "Friends of the Fest". Alan noted that Friends of the Fest checks need to be handed in TONIGHT! Food Tent: Sandi Carothers/Steve and Mari Antman Steve stated that everything is under control. He has one check for the not for profits outstanding. It happens to be the Rotary Club. Event Setup/Take down: Ron Greco Ron was not present. JV stated that Ron needs people to sign up for set up and take down of specific events during the weekend. Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak Jim stated that he has 47 crafters this year. He has 50 committed, but some did not respond with paperwork. He will be spreading the booths out this year. Van Man: Eric Gordon Eric stated that he is all set, He does need 1 to 2 drivers on Sunday for the bathroom runs. He will need someone from 11 on for a couple of hours at the parade. Eric also needs help Sunday afternoon. Monday Eric stated that he will do it himself. Sunday van driving is at the parade site not on campus. Jim stated that he is not done with the van with the crafters until a little after 11. Eric instructed the driver not to leave campus until Jim is done with the van. Kids Craft Tent:Betty Lou Manso/Debi Moritz Betty Lou stated that everything if fine. She said that she has a new sponsor, Roshel Rivellino who will run a table of her own crafts. She is opening an art studio in Long Grove. Betty Lou stated that the pots are moved. She needs to get with Ron about her needs for the event. BBQ Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Murray Sprung Chuck stated that he has 42 plates from a total of 24 grillers. Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Raphaelson Penni stated that new this year, they will take credit and debit cards. There will be an ATM on the carnival side. The carnival will be supplying one themselves along with the committee one. Debra stated that they used the credit card system at the State Fair and it worked well. Penni stated that they need people in the ticket booth during the fireworks on Sunday. Saturday night they still a few people to work the last shift. Entertainment: Karen Danenberg/Marlene Kozak Karen stated that all is fine and good. She is all done. Plugs and Wires: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe Doug stated that they are in good shape. The new antenna for the FM transmitter for fireworks is working well. Doug said that they will need batteries. Paulette told Doug to make a list of what kind and how many. Adam stated that 14 risers is the final order. Paulette stated that is good as that is what she already ordered. Adam discussed the stage issue that occurred in Indiana. That stage is nothing like ours. Ours is safe in up to 85 miles per hour winds. The ballast is in the stage deck with outriggers. They can drop roof of the stage in less that 30 seconds. Our stage is designed for outdoor venues. The one in Indiana was not. Rick questioned who will do the announcing for the Buddy baseball game. Since Mike Terson is now a Trustee, he will not be available. A discussion occurred about bad weather procedures during the festival, which includes moving people into the Public Works and Park District buildings and the Village Hall if bad weather is imminent. Publicity: Alan Danenberg Alan stated that the he brochure went out in the Village newsletter. The brochure has been reduced from 16 pages to 4 pages. Joanne has been posting blogs on the Patch. The ads will start this week in the Daily Herald and the Pioneer Press newspapers. Compliments were given to Joanne about the in depth free publicity she has gotten with her blogs. Photography: Hal Norman/Jim Pawlak Jim and Hall stated that they will be ready. Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett Lori stated that the necklaces will sell for $2 each, 3 for $5. They are ready to go. VIP Party: Judith Katz/Pam Soracco Arlene stated that everything going well. They will have lots of food, Arlene asked about the person from Lindford winery, who will be providing the wine tasting, will need a parking pass. Paulette stated she has 2 extra passes. Arlene stated that they have 33 vendors providing food. Information Booth: Ken Lazar/Mo Welborn Ken stated that everything is good. Iceman: Ron .Jess Ron stated that he got the $40 taken off the contract for the set up charge. He talked to James at Sam's Club about water. We will get some from them but we will not get $100 worth of water. He has 10 cases of water in his garage. He has gift certificates for Sunset Foods and Target. BG juniors Rhonda stated that they have more banners than she thought she would have for the parade and will need a few more kids to carry them. Village Liaison: Scott Anderson Scott has no report. Trustee Liaison: Beverly Susman/Steve Trilling Bev has no report. Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members Debi stated that this year, they are trying full recycling, There will be attachment to the garbage bins for recyclables. Adam stated that he has one additional invoice for drum kits. Paulette announced that this is the last week for additions to the big board. Paulette stated that next week, everyone is to wear their tie dye t-shirt and be at the meeting promptly at 7:00. JV sated that the weekend will be a lot of work but it will be all worthwhile when we see the kids come in on Monday from the carnival. . Ron Jess made a motion to adjourn.
