The meeting was called to order at 7:05.
Chairman's Report: JV Springman/Paulette Greenberg
JV stated that the sign up sheets are out there and help is still needed.
He stated that there will be a book at the Information Booth for sign in and sign out for
committee members.
Paulette stated that there are only three openings left for the not for profit tent. She vetoed the
new vendor of LED flashing mouth guards. .
The tent delivery is tomorrow.
Paulette reminded everyone that on Thursday night, after Bingo, the Food Tent needs to be
reconfigured, moving chairs and tables. Lots of help will be needed. You can arrive around
10:30.
There has been a request that the VIP left overs be sent to the crew for Saturday.
Police: Scott Eisenmenger
Scott stated that he is ready to go.
Parade: Ken Lazar/Lee Orlov/Murray Sprung. Rodney Odelson
Rodney stated that he has 102 participants. The US Navy will be allowed entrance on Bernard.
Dogs will be allowed on floats if leashed. The Friends of the Park will have dogs on their float.
Mobile Com: Roger Remblake
Roger stated that the Police Department, the Fire Department and the Public Works have lists of
their assignments.
The Park District Building will be the address used for Mobile Com.
He is getting 25 radios and headsets. They are testing to determine which channel to stay on.
There is to be no chit chat on the radios. Employee to employee is OK though.
Roger reviewed proper use and etiquette on the radios. When calling Mobile Com, you are not to
use names but ask for "Mobile Com". Use Mobile Com to report lost children/parents.
Roger reviewed the new procedure for inclement weather.
Fun and Food: Rick Kahen/Mara Sabath
Rick stated that he has a 5 hour shift open. Pam took two hours and Mo took three hours.
Other than that, he is ready to go. He has had 306 RSVP's for the Fun and Food program.
During the parade, Rick will use the long cart if needed.
The Buddy Baseball rain date is Sunday at 4:00.
Fire Department: George Michehl
George stated that he is ready to go.
There will be no smoke house this year. He has the BBQ prizes.
There will be a fire extinguisher in Public Works.
The fireworks are good to go.
Park District: Teri Ebner
Teri was not present and sent her email to Jane.
They are good to go.
Public Works: Dave Haisma/Brett Robinson
Dave stated that he is ready to go.
The contractor signed the corrections.
You can preview your signs if you wish.
Chamber/Corporate Sponsorship Scott Fishkin
Alan stated that they are ready to go.
The Corporate sponsorship raised $16,000 this year.
There will be 16 tents in the Business Fair.
Food Tent: Sandi Carothers/Steve and Mari Antman
Steve stated that he is ready to go. He handed in the last not for profit check to the Village on
Thursday.
Event Setup/Take down: Ron Greco
Ron asked everyone to check the schedule and verify their times for volunteering for set up and
take down.
Ron stated that he is blocking off a time frame for help for the BBQ Challenge and for the Kids
Craft Tent.
He will need configurations from the sub chair persons for those events.
Arts and Crafts: Jim Pawlak/Joan Pawlak
Jim stated that they are ready to go.
They will need one electric source for a crafter.
Van Man: Eric Gordon
Eric stated that he is ready to go.
He still needs drivers. He has the list.
The driver of the van will have a radio.
Kids Craft Tent:Betty Lou Manso/Debi Moritz
Betty Lou stated that they is ready to go.
She has two new helpers this year.
The supplies are ready.
If needed for transport, Eric will be available with the van.
BBQ Challenge: Chuck Posniak/Murray Sprung
Chuck stated that he is ready to go. He has 52 plates, 10 more than last year. He has 23 grillers,
which is 2 more than last year.
Carnival: Debra Jess/Penni Raphaelson
Penni stated that they are ready to go.
The Fire Department and the Police Department inspections will be on Thursday at 1 and 2
respectively.
The ATM will arrive at noon on Thursday.
The tickets are good if they do not say Astro.
They ran out of wristbands last year. It will not happen this year. The carnival have as many as
we need this year.
Entertainment: Karen Danenberg/Marlene Kozak
Karen stated she is ready to go. She thanked Doug and Adam for all their work.
Plugs and Wires: Doug Primack/Adam Moodhe
Doug stated that they are ready to go.
He had questions about parking for the bands. The van will pick the bands up at Town Center.
Publicity: Alan Danenberg
Alan stated that the ads are running.
He had three interviews with the press this week, including the Statesman and the Trip Local.
He thanked Joanne Johnson for her blogs on the Patch.

Jim stated that they are ready to—
go.-They will have coverage of the entire weekend using four photographers.
The events will be covered per the schedule.
Glow Necklaces: Lori Hackett
Lori stated that they will be selling the glow necklaces Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after 1:00.
VIP Party: Judith Katz/Pam Soracco
Judy stated that they are ready to go.
Information Booth: Ken Lazar/Mo Welborn
Ken stated that he is ready to go. The sign in/out book will be at the Information Booth. The
schedule for volunteering will also be there.
Iceman: Ron .Jess
Ron stated that he is ready to go.
The freezer is coming Thursday morning.
The water is at Public Works.
He got 100+bottles from Sam's.
BG Juniors: Rhonda Norman
Rhonda stated that she is ready to go.
Village Liaison: Scott Anderson
Scot stated that he has no report.
Trustee Liaison: Beverly Susman/Steve Trilling
Beverly and Steve stated that they were ready to go.
Your 2 Cents Worth: All committee members
Paulette stated that there will be mosquito spot spraying before the weekend for the festival.
Ron made a motion to adjourn. Rodney seconded the motion.
