VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE BOARD OF HEALTH
Regular Meeting
July 20, 2006
The Village of Buffalo Grove Board of Health regular meeting was called to order at 7:36 P.M. on
Thursday,July 20,2006 in the Lower Level Conference Room of the Village Hall, 50 Raupp Boulevard.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners Present: Chairman Heiss
Commissioner Goldberg
Commissioner Kuffel
Commissioners Absent: Commissioner Wigodner
Commissioner Stone
Also Present: Brian Sheehan,Health Officer
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Heiss made a motion to approve the minutes of the Village of Buffalo Grove Board of Health
regular meeting held on Thursday,June 15,2006.Com.Kuffel seconded the motion.
Voice Vote—AYE was unanimous.
OLD BUSINESS
The Commissioners were updated on the discussions concerning the installation of a lightening warning
system similar to the ones used at the golf course at the Village parks. Staff was requested to look into
options.
NEW BUSINESS
The Health Department Activity Report was discussed.
The Commissioner's discussed the 2006 Mosquito Control Program. The West Nile Virus Activity was
discussed.
The Commissioners were brought up to date on the four day care homes that will be going before the
Village Plan Commission and one additional pending application.
The Commission discussed the pandemic/avian flu and what role the Board of Health would play in a
pandemic situation.Village staff is putting together a presentation for the Village Board and the
Commission will be kept up to date on any developments.
The Commissioner's were given a recap of the 2006 Fine Arts Festival and how the food vendors
performed as far as sanitation practices.The upcoming Buffalo Grove Days Food vendors were also
discussed.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
The next regularly scheduled meeting is August 17,2006 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lower level Conference Room
of the Village Hall, 50 Raupp Boulevard.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Chairman Heiss and seconded by Com. Goldberg.
Voice Vote—AYE was unanimous.
The meeting adjourned at 8:37 P.M.
