VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE BOARD OF HEALTH
Regular Meeting
September 21, 2006
The Village of Buffalo Grove Board of Health regular meeting was called to order at 7:34 P.M. on
Thursday, September 21, 2006 in the Lower Level Conference Room of the Village Hall, 50 Raupp
Boulevard.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners Present: Commissioner Goldberg
Commissioner Kuffel
Commissioners Absent: Chairman Heiss
Commissioner Wigodner
Commissioner Stone
Also Present: Brian Sheehan,Health Officer
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Goldberg made a motion to approve the minutes of the Village of Buffalo Grove Board of
Health regular meeting held on Thursday,July 20,2006. Com.Kuffel seconded the motion.
Voice Vote—AYE was unanimous.
OLD BUSINESS
The Commissioners was updated on the request to look into the possibility of installing a lightening
warning system similar to the ones used at the golf course on the Village Park system.
NEW BUSINESS
The Health Department Activity Report was discussed.
The Commissioner's were brought up to date on the West Nile Virus activity in the area and the Village
specifically. The mosquito control program was also discussed.
The Commissioners were brought up to date on the four day care homes that went before the Village Board
as well as a pending application.
The Commission discussed the pandemic/avian flu and what role the Board of Health would play in a
pandemic situation.Village staff is putting together a presentation for the Village Board and the
Commission will be kept up to date on any developments.
The Commissioner's discussed Buffalo Grove Days and the food vendors. The hand sanitizer that was
distributed was viewed as a good idea and should continue into the future.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
The next regularly scheduled meeting is October 19, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lower level Conference
Room of the Village Hall, 50 Raupp Boulevard.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Com.Kuffel and seconded by Com. Goldberg.
Voice Vote—AYE was unanimous.
The meeting adjourned at 8:31 P.M.
