APPROVAL OF MINUTES
NEW BUSINESS
The Health Department Activity report was discussed.
Health and Wellness Fair was discussed among Commissioners. It was agreed that it should be earlier in
the year possibly in March, but not to conflict with spring break or the Park Districts Senior Health Fair.
Peggy will check on these dates. Commissioners also thought a larger location such as Grove Banquets
would be better as it was a bit crowded last year. Peggy distributed last year's vendor list.
Commissioner Kersky suggested an audiologist to do an abbreviated hearing test if possible.
Commissioner Stone suggested a nutritionist possibly from Highland Park Health and Fitness.
Trustee Sussman recommended that if we have food and refreshments again to be sure to have people get
their glucose level tested prior to partaking in these items as it does affect the test.
Commissioner Kuffel suggested that the gentleman that was added at the last minute last year and
promoted biking in Buffalo Grove also return. He was not on the vendor list. Commissioner Kuffel has his
information at home and will bring it to the next meeting.
Meeting Frequency was discussed among commissioners. If there aren't any new items on the agenda then
the Board will meet every other month. We will meet in November to further discuss the Health and
Wellness fair, then not until January unless something comes up that would require us to meet in
December.
Commissioner Loeb reported on the Bicycle helmet safety initiative. She said the police dept. would
welcome the opportunity to work with us to promote bicycle helmets.
OLD BUSINESS
On-going Sharps and Prescription Drug Disposal Programs were reported on.
Up coming flu shot clinic was discussed. Commissioners wanted to be sure a sign was posted indicting that
this is a seasonal flu shot not the HINI vaccine.
