Activity Report—No comments
Power Outage.
The recent power outages were discussed. Commissioner Loeb asked what the health Dept. did to assure
the food service establishments took the appropriate action. Peggy Starczowski, indicated the Health
Department went to each facility that was affected by the outage to make sure they had either a generator,a
refrigerated truck or made other arrangements to keep potentially hazardous foods at proper temperature. If
no accommodations were made, they made sure the food was discarded. Trustee Stein recommended that
the Health department do a presentation to the Village Board on what was done. Peggy Starczowski
indicated that it would normally be done by Brian Sheehan the Health Officer and that she would discuss it
with him. After some discussion Trustee Stein thought maybe he could just read a statement to the Village
Board during his Trustee report at the next Village Board meeting. Peggy Starczowski said she and Brain
would write something up and get it to him.
Buffalo Grove Days was discussed.

Newsletter:
It was decided that the next article for"Healthful Hints "would discuss the need for vaccinations now that
school is about to start, with emphasis on the need to get a booster shot for whooping cough.
Commissioner Battinus submitted his logo for the Board of Health which depicts a Buffalo wearing a lab
coat and a stethoscope. All of the Commissioners liked the design, so it will be submitted with the article
for the next Newsletter. Commissioners were asked to come up with a name for the logo as well.
