d. Health and Wellness Fair was discussed and with the decreasing attendance and the
prominence of Health fairs it was recommended that we no longer do the health and
wellness fair.In lieu of this it was suggested that the Board of Health have a table at the
farmers markets and offer free screenings, such as blood pressure, diabetes etc... The
table would be manned by Board of Health members or organizations arranged by the
Board of Health. Peggy Starczowski will speak with the Farmers market committee
about this and report back at the next meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
a. Newsletter articles-Liesa Niemotka went over the value of the articles in the Village
newsletter and how priorities are established and how the final content is
determined. She also went over other ways in which the Board of Health can
get educational information to the residents. After the newsletter, she
suggested articles for the e-news and channel 6. She also recommended that
the Board of Health develop a number of seasonal articles,as she can load
them now for release at a later date. They can also be changed as needed.
Each Board of Health member should come to the Jan.meeting with ideas for
upcoming newsletters etc....Healthful hints or other pertinent information
can also be put into the water bills. Keep in mind that the Cook County and
Lake County water bills go out on different dates.
