c. Boil order—
Commissioner Loeb indicated her home was part of a boil order.
The notices were placed on the front door and the garage door.
Despite them being red in color she did not notice it at first, when
she called to find out details it was after hours and couldn't get any
information from the Pubic Works, Police department or the
village website. The recording did not give details. This matter
was discussed among the commissioners and does not seem
adequate. With technology today, there should be a way to either
call/notify the affected people, or at the very least have the
information on the website. They had no idea if the boil order was
due to routine maintenance or if the supply had been contaminated
in some way. Residents should have easy access to this
information. When the police department was contacted they did
not know anything either. Peggy will contact public works and
look into the notification process and report back at the next
meeting.
d. Green Fest: Peggy Starczowski and Commissioner Gould will represent
the Board of Health at the first annual Green Fest on June 24 '. They will
be collecting batteries and cfls for recycling.
