CERT The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program was created by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in 1993 as a means to train local volunteers to respond safely, responsibly and effectively to emergency situations. Buffalo Grove first formed its CERT in 2007. CERT training is designed to cover the following topics:  Disaster Preparedness  Fire Suppression  Disaster Medical Operations  Light Search and Rescue  Disaster Psychology  Team Organization In addition to being trained and equipped for disasters, Buffalo Grove CERT members that have taken additional First Aid and CPR courses also assist the Village by staffing First Aid stations at special events. The Village has made its CERT program an essential part of its emergency response plan and is constantly looking for additional ways to utilize this valuable resource. If you would like additional information or have any questions about the Buffalo Grove CERT or would like to know when the next training class will begin please feel free to call the Em ergency Management Agency office at (847) 537-0995 or send an email to firedept@vbg.org.
