ORDINANCE NO. 88-26
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY
TO THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, ILLINOIS
(Commonwealth Edison Property)
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to
the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and,
WHEREAS, the following legally described unincorporated territory,
containing 60 acres or less is wholly bounded by the Village of Buffalo Grove
and the Village of Long Grove; and,
WHEREAS, notice of the proposed annexation of such territory has been
given the appropriate authorities; and,
WHEREAS, notice of the proposed annexation of such territory has been
published pursuant to Section 7-1-13 of the Illinois Municipal Code (Illinois
Revised Statutes, 1985, Ch. 24, Par. 7-1-13) ; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 17. 16.030 of the Village of Buffalo Grove
Zoning Ordinance newly annexed land is automatically, upon annexation,
classified as with the R-E (One-Family Dwelling) District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the property legally described in Exhibit A hereto and
hereby is annexed to the Village of Buffalo Grove.
A true and correct map of said real property shall be attached hereto
and made a part hereof as Exhibit A-1.
Section 2. The Village Clerk of the Village of Buffalo Grove is hereby
directed to cause to be filed in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds of Lake
County, a copy of this Ordinance and an accurate map of the territory
annexed.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and
after its passage and approval and according to law. This Ordinance shall
not be codified.

EXHIBIT A
(Commonwealth Edison Property)
That part of the East 1/2 of Section 20, Township 43 North, Range 11,
East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows:
A strip of land 210 feet in width (measured at right angles to the
southwesterly line thereof) through that part of the Southeast 1/4 of
Section 20, Township 43 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal
Meridian, in Lake County, Illinois, lying East of a line which is 9.25
Chains (610.50 feet) West of the East line of the West 1/2 of the
Southeast 1/4 of said Section 20, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the West line of the East 66 feet of said
Southeast 1/4 which is 350.91 feet North of the South line of said
Southeast 1/4, said point being in the Southwesterly line of a 210 foot

line of said 210 foot strip of land, a distance of 2515. 15 feet to a
point in the West line of the East 9.25 Chains (610.50 feet) of the West
1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of said section, said point being 606.60 feet
South of the North line of said Southeast 1/4: Thence North 282. 11 feet
to the Northeasterly line of said 210 foot strip (measured at right
angles to the Southwesterly diagonal line) : Thence Southeasterly along
a line 210 feet Northeasterly of (measured at right angles to said
Southwesterly diagonal line) and parallel thereto a distance of 820.12
feet to the intersection of said diagonal line with the East line of the
West 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section: Thence South along the
East line of the West 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section, a
distance of 118.29 feet to the North line of the South 25 Chains (1650
feet) of the East 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section: Thence East
along the North line of the South 25 Chains (1650 feet) of the East 1/2
of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section, a distance of 131.46 feet to the
intersection of said line with said Northeasterly diagonal line of said
210 foot strip of land: Thence Southeasterly along the Northeasterly
line of said two hundred ten (210) foot diagonal strip of land, a
distance of 1517.70 feet to the intersection of said diagonal line with
the West line of the East 66 feet of said Southeast 1/4: Thence South
along a line 66 feet West of and parallel with the East line of said
Southeast 1/4, a distance of 282.59 feet to the point of beginning, in
