ORDINANCE NO. 89- 49
AN ORDINANCE VACATING CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS
and RIGHT OF WAYS IN COLUMBIAN GARDENS UNIT #3
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit
pursuant to the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described public streets and right
of ways in Columbian Gardens Unit No. 3 are municipal right of
ways and are currently unimproved; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the lands abutting the
platted Subdivision of Columbian Gardens Unit # 3 have not
contributed to nor are they encumbered by said public streets and
rights of ways; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities have determined that the
nature and extent of the public use or public interest to be
subserved is such as to warrant the vacation of said public
streets and right of ways and that the relief to the public from
any burden and responsibility of maintaining same constitutes a
public use or public interest authorizing said vacation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1 : The preambles hereto are hereby incorporated and
made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2 : The following described public streets and right
of ways be and hereby are vacated:
All of the public streets and right of ways including
South Chevy Chase Drive and Linden Avenue falling
within a tract of land being that part of Section 34,
Township 43 North, Range 11, East of the Third Princi-
pal Meridian, in Lake County, Illinois, and that part
of Sections 2 and 3, Township 42 North, Range 11, East
of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County,
Illinois, described as follows: Beginning at the most
Easterly Northeast corner of Chevy Chase Business Park,
being a Resubdivision according to the plat thereof
recorded November 22, 1985 as Document No. 2401511 in

or bi5.00 reet and being tangent to said last described
line at said last described point, an arc distance of
192 . 18 feet to a point of reverse curvature (the chord
of said arc bears South 81 degrees 46 minutes 48
seconds East , 191 . 53 feet ) ; thence Easterly along a
curved line convex Southerly, having a radius of 567 .00
feet and being tangent to said last described curved
line at said last described point, an arc distance of
161. 43 feet to a point of tangency (the chord of said
arc bears South 81 degrees 46 minutes 48 seconds East,
160 . 89 feet ) ; thence South 89 degrees 56 minutes 11
seconds East along a line tangent to said last
described curved line at said last described point,
160 .00 feet ; thence North 00 degrees 03 minutes 49
seconds East, 95.38 feet to the Northerly line of South
Chevy Chase Drive as included in the plat of Columbian
Gardens Unit No. 3, being a Subdivision according to
the plat thereof recorded May 22, 1929, as Document No.
337110 in the Recorder ' s Office, Lake County, Illinois;
thence Northeasterly along the Northerly line of said
South Chevy Chase Drive, being a curved line convex
Southeasterly and having a radius of 1039 . 80 feet
( record 1042 . 10 feet) , an arc distance of 31.74 feet
( the chord of said arc bears North 50 degrees 52
minutes 15 seconds East , 31 . 74 feet ) ; thence
Northeasterly along a curved line convex Northwesterly
and having a radius of 995.35 feet ( record 996 .87 feet)
an arc distance of 166.96 feet to an intersection with
a line drawn perpendicular to the North line of Lake-
Cook Road from a point on said North line, 681. 00 feet,
as measured along said North line , East of the
Southeast corner of said Chevy Chase Business Park ( the
chord of said arc bears North 56 degrees 33 minutes 36
seconds East, 166.76 feet) ; thence South 00 degrees 03
minutes 09 seconds West along said last described
perpendicular line, 473.17 feet to the North line of
Lake-Cook Road; thence North 89 degrees 56 minutes 51
seconds West along said North line of Lake-Cook Road,
681 . 00 feet to an intersection with the most Easterly
East line of said Chevy Chase Business Park ; thence
North 00 degrees 19 minutes 00 seconds East along said
last described East line, 315.82 feet to the place of
beginning, all of said public streets and right of ways
hereindescribed falling in Lake County, Illinois.
Section 3 : A Plat of Vacation of said public streets and
right of ways is attached hereto and made a part hereof as
Exhibit "A" .
Section 4: That title to said vacated public streets and
right of ways is hereby declared to be vested in the owners of
the subdivided land abutting said public streets and right of
ways and that title to those public streets and right of ways on
the border of said Subdivisions is not vested in abutting land
owners whose land has not contributed to nor encumbered by said
public streets and right of ways.
Section 5 : This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
