AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5.12 COIN -OPERATED AMUSEMENT
DEVICES
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to the Illinois
Constitution of 1970.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1. Section 5.12.070 of the Village of Buffalo Grove Municipal Code is hereby amended
with deletions in strileugh and additions in underline text so that Section 5.12.070 shall
provide as follows:
5.12.070 - Number.
A. No more than one jukebox or musical box and no more than three other amusement
devices shall be permitted in any business establishment to which a Village business
license has been issued, except as allowed by this section.
B. Business establishments with a valid Class A or Class B liquor license located in business
zoning districts other than in a B-5 Planned Unit Development District may have a
maximum of eight amusement devices, not including a jukebox or musical box, subject to
the general conditions in Section 5.12.080.
C. Business establishments with a valid Class A or Class B liquor license located in the B-5
Town Center Planned District may have a maximum of sixty amusement devices, not
including a jukebox or musical box, subject to the conditions of Sections 5.12.080 and
5.12.090.
D. Business establishments located in the Industrial (I) Zoning District may have a maximum
of thirty-six amusement devices, not including a jukebox or musical box, subject to the
conditions of Sections 5.12.080 and 5.12.090, but only to the extent expressly authorized
by an ordinance authorizing a special use for a "recreational facility" in the Industrial (I)
Zoning District. Any terms and conditions beyond those set forth in Sections 5.12.080 and
5.12.090 shall be set forth in the special use ordinance.

E. Business establishments with a valid Class C liquor license, t.__.� _m hat are a minimum of 240.000
s qgq feet in area and have more than one public entrance may have a maximum of six
amusement devices subject to the condition that building entrances and exits shall be
properly maintained for ingress and egress at all times. Amusement devices as well as
patrons shall not obstruct building entrances or exits.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and in effect from and after its passage and
approval.
