ORDINANCE NO. 2016 - 012
GRANTING VARIATIONS FROM CERTAIN SECTIONS
OF THE BUFFALO GROVE SIGN CODE
Starbucks 1205 Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to the Illinois
Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, the real property ("Property") hereinafter legally described is zoned in the
B-3 Business District and is commonly no as Starbucks 1205 Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove,
Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, request is being made for variations to Section 14.16.030, Section 14.16.060
and Section 15.20.070 of the Village Sign Code (Title 14 of the Buffalo Grove Municipal Code)
for the purpose of placing a second menu board that would serve as a digital ordering screen at
1205 Dundee Road, and;
WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission held a public hearing at is it
received testimony on the requested variations; and
WHEREAS, the Planning& Zoning Commission made certain findings of fact, made a
positive recommendation for the variations, and prepared minutes of the public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Buffalo Grove hereby
determine and fi nd that the requested sign variations are in harmony with the general purpose
and intent of the Sign Code (Title 14 of the Buffalo Grove Municipal Code) , and that the
Petitioner has shown 1) That the proposed signage is of particularly good taste and 2) The entire
site has been particularly well landscaped.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, as follows:
Section 1. The preceding WHEREAS clauses are hereby adopted by the Corporate Authorities
and made a part hereof
Scetioji 2. Variations are hereby granted to Section 14.16.030, Section 14.16,060 and Section
15.20.070 of the Village Sign Code (Title 14 of the Buffalo Grove Municipal Code) for the
purpose of placing a second menu board that would serve as a digital ordering screen at 1205
Dundee Road, legally described as follows:
Parcel 1: of I in Plaza Verde Unit One, a Subdivision of part of the northeast 1/4 of the
northeast 1/4 of Section 7, Township 42 north, Range 11, cast of the it Principal
Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois.
Parcel 2: Lot 2 in Barbara Resubdivision of part of Lot 2 of Plaza Verde Unit One, a
Subdivision of part of the northeast 1/4 of the northeast 1/4 of Section 7, Township 42
no 11, cast of the it Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, and
approval. This Ordinance shall not be codified.
