1999-0670 • ORDINANCE NO. 99 -67 GRANTING A VARIATION FROM SECTION 14.36.010 OF THE BUFFALO GROVE SIGN CODE Zierk's Home Furnishings 650 Lake Cook Road WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and WHEREAS, the Petitioner, Hamilton Partners, has requested a variation of the hereinafter legally described real property, commonly known as 650 Lake Cook Road, Buffalo Grove, Illinois, from section 14.36.010 of the Buffalo Grove Sign Code for the purpose of installing a "For Lease" sign; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has held a public hearing, received testimony, prepared minutes, made certain findings, and has made an affirmative recommendation on said request for variation; and WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Buffalo Grove hereby determine and find that said variations are in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the Sign Code, and 1) not allowing the variances will cause undue and unnecessary hardship due to the Petitioner, 2) granting the requested variances would not be detrimental to the property owners in the vicinity, 3) unusual conditions apply to specific property that do not apply generally to other properties in the Village, and 4) granting the variances will not be contrary to the general objective of the Sign Code of moderating the size, number and obtrusive placement of signs and the reduction of clutter. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows: SECTION 1. The preceding WHEREAS clauses are hereby adopted by the Corporate SECTION 2. Variations are hereby granted to Section 14.36.010 of the Village Sign Code to the following legally described property: Lot 1 in Buffalo Grove Business Park Unit 10, being a subdivision in the north 1/2 of Section 5, Township 42 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois according to the plat thereof recorded November 1, 1988 as Document Number 88504178, in Cook County, Illinois. 0 The specific variations will allow the Petitioner to install a "For Lease" sign pursuant to the Exhibits presented to the Zoning Board of Appeals. Said sign to be permitted for a period of time not to exceed one year or earlier if there is a lease of the property. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its passage and approval. This ordinance shall not be codified. AYES: 5 - Marienthal Braiman Hendricks Glover.
