ORDINANCE NO. 98 22
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR FIRE LANE
AT EXTENDED STAY AMERICA
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is an Illinois Home Rule Unit pursuant to the
Illinois Constitution of 1970.
WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove has received a written request from the owners
of Extended Stay America at 1525 Busch Parkway that emergency police and fire lanes be
established on their premises.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1. An emergency police lane and fire lane is hereby created and provided for
at 1525 Busch Parkway as designed on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, or other entity to
block or obstruct wholly or partly any of the designated fire lane or police lane.
Seeflon 3. Any person violating this ordinance shall be punished in accordance with
Chapter 1.08 of the Village of Buffalo Grove Municipal Code.

Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication. This ordinance may be published in pamphlet form. This ordinance
shall not be codified.

It is our understanding that this is a necessary step in allowing the municipal authorities
to police and control these emergency lanes. It is further our understanding that it will
be our responsibility to furnish and install necessary signage as approved by the
municipal authorities.

We have discussed this layout with the Fire Department and the Police Department
and they have agreed to this location.
