ORDINANCE 93- 23
AN ORDINANCE. SETTING THE DATE MAY 3, 1993
FOR THE INAUGURATION AND COMMENCEMENT OF TERMS
FOR THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE TRUSTEES
TO BE ELECTED AT THE APRIL 20, 1993 ELECTION
WHEREAS, Chapter 65, Paragraph 513 -2 -2, of the Illinois Compiled
Statutes (1992) , provides in part as follows:
"The terms of elected municipal officers shall commence at the first
regular or special meeting of the corporate authorities during the
month of April following the proclamation of the results of the
regular municipal election at which such officers were elected,
except as may otherwise be provided by ordinance fixing the date
for inauguration of newly elected officers of a municipality. No
such ordinance shall fix the time for inauguration of newly elected
officers later than the first regular or special meeting of the
corporate authorities in the month of May following such election.";
and
WHEREAS, on April 20, 1993 an Election will be held in which the offices
of Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove will be duly elected; and
WHEREAS, the first regular scheduled Board after the election is May 3,
1993; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with state statutes, an official canvass of the
election will have to take place no later than seven days following the election
and sufficient time must be allowed for the preparation of an abstract of votes
and a Resolution declaring the results of the election.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, acting in the exercise
of their home rule power:
Section 1: That the inauguration and commencement of terms for
Trustees of the Village of Buffalo Grove to be elected at the April 20, 1993
Election shall be at the Regular Meeting on May 3, 1993.

NA YES: 0 - None
ABSENT: 0 - None
ABSTAIN: 0 - None
