1987-009o q ORDINANCE NO. 87-9 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 13.04.290 AND 13.04.320 OF TITLE 13 OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and WHEREAS, the Lake County Public Works Department has determined that it is necessary to modify the residential and commercial /industrial sanitary sewer treatment fees in order to properly fund the operational and maintenance expenses of the Des Plaines River Sewage Treatment Plant; and WHEREAS, the Lake County Public Works Department has further determined that it will be necessary to modify the residential equivalent unit fee for connection to the Lake County sewer system; and WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a party to an Intergovernmental Agreement for Sewage Treatment Service ( "Agreement ") with such sanitary sewer treatment and sewer system connection fees articulated within the language of said Agreement; and WHEREAS, the County of Lake has adopted a Resolution authorizing and directing the Public Works Department to increase both the sanitary sewer treatment and sewer system connection fees, and provide notice of same, all in accordance with the terms of the Agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS that: SECTION 1. Section 13.04.290, Sewer Use Changes, Subsection A7, of the Village of Buffalo Grove Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: 7. Service Charge. There shall be a service charge of ten dollars and seventy cents per month for each user serviced by the Lake County sewer system. Cook County users are taxed for sewer treatment via tax levied by the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago. For commercial, institutional and industrial user /consumers serviced by the Lake County sewer system, the rate will be ten dollars and seventy cents for every seven thousand five hundred gallons of metered service. The fee will be calculated to the nearest tenth equivalent of measure. The minimum monthly charge for these classes is ten dollars and seventy cents. SECTION 2. Section 13.04.320, Service Connections, Subsection F2, of the Village of Buffalo Grove Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: o L� 2. In addition to the charges listed in paragraph 1 of this subsection, fees paid for each connection to the Village sewer system in Lake County are as follows: Connection to Village Mains Residential Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Fee $ 900.00 per unit $ 900.00 per unit single- family residential equivalent SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law as of February 17, 1987.
