1985-026ORDINANCE NO. 85- 26 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 76 -43 GENERAL SERVICE OFFICER WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove employs General Service Officers to supplement the protective services of the Village; and WHEREAS, the Village has previously enacted Ordinance Number 76 -43 setting forth the parameters of a General Service Officer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows: Section 1. Ordinance No. 76 -43 is hereby amended by deleting therefrom Section 1 and by inserting in lieu thereof the following: Rortinn 1 A. The Village Chief of Police is hereby authorized to employ auxiliary police officers as employees. B. Prior to employment, all proposed auxiliary policemen shall be fingerprinted and their fingerprints shall be checked with the Federal Bureau of Identification, Washington, D.C., for any possible criminal record. No person shall be appointed as an auxiliary police officer if he has been convicted of a felony or other crime involving moral turpitude. Section 2, Ordinance No. 76 -43 is hereby amended by adding to Section 3 the following subsection: Section 3. J. To perform related work as required.. Section 3. Ordinance No. 76 -43 is hereby amended by deleting therefrom Section 5 and by inserting in lieu thereof the following: Section 5. Auxiliary police officers, prior to entering upon any of their duties, shall receive a course of training suited to their duties. Section 4, This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
