1983-0430 0 ORDINANCE NO. 83- 43 ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS WHEREAS, the Village of Buffalo Grove is a Home Rule Unit pursuant to the Illinois Constitution of 1970; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF BUFFALO GROVE, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows: SECTION 1. Chapter 2.44 Zoning Board of Appeals is hereby amended to read as follows: CHAPTER 2.44 ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS SECTIONS: 2.44.010 CREATION AND MEMBERSHIP 2.44.020 MEETINGS AND RULES SECTION 2.44.010 - CREATION AND MEMBERSHIP A Zoning Board of Appeals is hereby authorized to be established. The word "Board" when used in this Chapter shall be construed tomean the Zoning Board of Appeals. Such Board shall consist of seven (7) members appointed by the - President of the Village with the consent of the Board of Trustees. The members of said Board shall serve until the expiration of their current terms or until their respective successors have been duly appointed and qualified, and each respective successor so appointed shall serve for a term of five (5) years, or until his successor has been duly appointed and qualified. One (1) of the members of said Board shall be designated by the President of the Village, with the consent of the Board of Trustees, as Chairman until his successor is appointed. Vacancies upon said Board shall be filled for the unexpired term of the member whose place has been vacant, in the manner herein provided for the appointment of such member. SECTION 2.44.020 - MEETINGS AND RULES All meetings of the Board shall be held at the call of the Chairman and at such other times as the Board may determine. The Chairman, or in his absence, the Acting Chairman, may administer oaths and compel the attendance of witnesses. -1- 0 0 -2- Every member, including the Chairman, is entitled to one vote. All meetings of the Board shall be open to the public. The Board shall keep minutes of its proceedings, showing the vote of each member upon every question, or if absent or failing to vote, indicating that fact, and shall also keep records of its examinations and other official actions. No hearing shall be conducted without a quorum of the Board being present, which shall consist of a majority of all the members. Every rule, regulation and every order, requirement, decision or determination of the Board shall immediately be filed in the Office of the Zoning Administrator and shall be a public record. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
